Health Pools and Speed of Combat
TL;DR: I wonder if health pools are a little low (across the board for all classes) because SPvP team fights seem to be over in a flash.
…
However, like in tournys when my buddy buffs my warrior I can crit for like 10k with my burst skill… and my ele only has an HP pool of like 14k. No wonder fights are over so fast.
14k HP pool?!? There’s the problem. My Ele has 20k hp, stacks toughness, runs 3 cantrips, and has armor of earth and arcane shield auto-proc at 50% and 25% hp, respectively. It’s PvP, I learned long ago to run as much defense as possible, with condition dmg and sustained output, I kill plenty of folks.
I can eat 10k warrior crits and keep moving without breaking a sweat. sPvP fights are over in a flash cause too many people spec glass cannon and then wonder why they die fast. You can’t dps when you’re dead…
Legion of Anvil Rock [XXIV] – Anvil Rock
The better you get the “slower” things will start to feel as your actions require less thinking and become more of a reaction. Just keep working on figuring out what was the right move in each situation and work on making them 2nd nature.
If everyone was forced to wear Soldier’s Amulet, skirmishes wouldn’t be so quick. Not saying it should happen, just saying.

As Seether said, I’d have to agree. Everything seems to happen much faster when you dont know what to expect from everyone. You get more used to specific weapon sets, you expect what’s going to happen before they even press the keybind. Things start to really slow down.
Keep playing man, and you’ll get used to certain skills you need to watch out for. Then all of the simple combos will become easy to dodge. Stick with it.
2 second TTK is bad gameplay. There are a few specific classes and specs where the TTK is just too high.
In general I think TTK is about right though. They just need to:
1. Remove quickness from the game
and
2. Nerf the thief backstab build
And a lot of the TTK issues would go away
