I’m not talking about the title for the first place, but something everyone canwork towards.

I still remember the first r70, we’d gather around the mist for him to use his emote and take screenshots. It felt like there was a community, and even when a match was a complete blowout at least we still got closer to those sweet emotes we can show off.

Not anymore. Anet decided to nuke the entire rank system years ago and make progression an endless grind for chests and nothing else.

It’s about time we got something to replace it. PvP desperately needs progression.

So how about adding something for AT? Let’s say, “grand champion ranks”. Winning 150 matches on a mesmer would grant the title “grand champion illusionist”.

Anything that incentivizes people to take part and still feel some progression if they drop off after the first few rounds would be nice.

Yes, at the very least make ATs and other sPvP ventures rewarding. I don’t think “more rewards than PvE” is being asked for here (because we’ll get a very misery minority going sour grapes), but at least something different with a longish investment time.

I know I’m one of those people who like to collect titles and unique skins while I play sPvP, and it’s a significant part of my enjoyment and a measure of satisfaction/success. I remember the wardrobe changes and the rank point gain restructure that pushed me from around R50 to R80 being a letdown. Sharks, phoenixes (was there even a non-farm dragon rank?) were so rare and people celebrated them.

Come for the prestige, stay for the fun.
