So, after a bad fight on the first min of the game one player just stop playing. He said “I go afk”, but instead he stayed at base complaining about our plays until the end of the game.

My question is:
How this fake afk players are punished if they stay at base spamming chat and aren’t kick from the game (because they keep moving)?
What is the correct report opition for this situation?

You should report them. I know many people don’t “believe” in the report function, because there is no feedback what so ever. But I think that’s the best way to go.

No here “AFK” choice in report system =)

I know. But then report them for “Verbal Abuse” (which kinda fits in the case the OP describes) or “Scamming”…

I know the choices aren’t optimal. Maybe a good way for ANet would be to add “Leaching/AFKing” to the options to have a more appropriate choice.

EDIT:
In my experience, the described player type tends to talk down the opponent team, when he wins, and talk down the own team, when he loses. So “Verbal Abuse” might get the most amount of “report hits” for that player.

Also, LFG abuse fits this scenario a little. Because, when they queue solo, or in a small group, they are looking for a group to play with. If they then afk, and don’t make an attempt to play, they are abusing the system.

Yeah I agree with you, those seem to be the best option.
Archon I never thought on that possibility, it also makes sense.

My question rose because the penalty points for the MMR or whatever is. If they played bad or didn’t play at all that penalty would be OK. I guess.
