Let’s face it, EU pvp community is currently terrible so I’m thinking of swapping.

mind i don’t have uber sweden connection

- can’t play any class with ports because anet decided to change how game handles latency and using port skills wil cause them to fail if you have more than 100ms (this basically https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zB4LAIOajpI)
- enjoy getting stunned/feared/immobed mid dodge
other than that playable….
oh and you won’t get crappy EU lag that is caused by telekom being cheap kittens and not upgrading wooden node that causes bottleneck every evening

I’ve played mostly NA from England. It’s usually alright, at the very top levels you’re at a slight disadvantage and the difference on EU is definitely noticeable (good god it’s like butter).

Not sure if experience doing the reverse would matter much but I played a little bit on a English server and I live in the states. No lag at all really. I do live on the East Coast in the US.

It’s not "bad," but it’s certainly a noticeable difference, and being further to travel the possibility of getting lag is broader. You’ll likely get hit mid dodge a lot. If you have say 150ms ping, you’ll have a 300ms shorter window to dodge stuff.

It’s going to depend on your type of connection. If your current connection is very good, you wont have an issue. If you frequently suffer from high latency, packet loss and high jitter, it will be 2x worse switching servers.

I run a satellite connection… so i’m always at a disadvantage when it comes to gaming. I will tell you that at 200-400 latency, with high jitter/packet loss the game can get incredibly hard to play… but it’s still playable. If your latency is 200ms but you have 0 packet loss, you’ll be fine.

tl;dr
If you usually have 50ms or less, expect to have somewhere between 100-200ms. Trust me, that’s still a playable connection but it depends on how stable your current internet is.

Just did NA for the first time today and I was actually quite shocked about the difference.
Most reactions have a noticable delay (0.2 – 0.5s) and can cost you a fight.

I wont even try Thief, just playing shoutbow so I can get carried vs the delay (lel)

seems like i’m staying where i am.

I’ve usually 20-30 ms but 100-200 ms is totally unplayable, no idea how can u people even say it’s manageble.

I’m from EU and played on NA for a few weeks. For most of the time on NA I had less lag than on EU. Fun times, miss them.

I’m playing from Central/Eastern EU, I never feel like I am 0,5 seconds late for everything.

I play on NA from the UK, my net is 100% crap but I don’t feel much lag. Despite what many people say, GW2 servers are quite good.
I play d/p thief on a fairly squishy build, but I do just fine against most opponents.

I tried today but i had 170 ms in a best scenario. Probably not the best weekend to do this test, i think i’ll try in a few days and a different times.

I’d like to know how much phantaram or hibify can ping in eu because you really need a ninja connection to have an acceptable delay.

tbh i don’t think it’s worth to swap, problem isn’t the fact eu is terrible atm, it’s i’ve lost the will to play.

I find myself to be worse everyday cuz playing vs passive procs and weapon swaps tired me and it’s prolly 2-3 months i don’t play at 100 % so i’m becoming a scrub.

I think i should just quit for a while and hope HoT will rehaul the sheet game Gw2 has became.

Now i’m no more cuz the game sucks, it’s a sheetton of passive sheet put togheter and my pvp experience ( like many other players even TOP players) is just bad, plainly bad.

So i don’t concentrate anymore when i’m playing, getting progressively worse.

And i see no reason to concentrate again and getting good again.

This has very little to do with the EU community, although it’s truly bad, toxic and right now much inferior to NA one.

Tbh i just can’t understand why NA community is getting healtier and bigger right in the time were gw2 PvP is at its lowest but whatever, your choice.

Have fun playing this crap game, i’ll just wait for HoT

You’ve done absolutely nothing but whine for two straight years (even when you’ve rarely been seen playing anything other than the most brainless Thief specs and occasionally a 1v1 hero power Nec). If the game is so terrible, leave already. You won’t be missed.

The irony in this post is real. You are exactly what is wrong with this community.

I play on both NA/EU. You will lag about an extra 100-200ms , but the worse part is the random lag spikes. It varies depending on the time of day you play.

I agree, i’ve been a very toxic player in the last few months.

Still doesn’t change the fact the game is in a terrible state right now, so people who understand the mechanics of this game will be frustrated.

Almost all good players in EU have already left and all the potentially good ones ( like i the ones i like to put me in) have no incentives to keep on playing and get good ( or going back being good again).

You can argue about my personality, you can’t argue about current state of the game.
