Hello guys,

The first part of my post is mostly directed towards Anet. Now I know that devs don`t give a rat`s kitten about what we write on these forums and nobody will ever answer in this thread from the devs but still, I feel the need to vent.

How can you kitten up so bad the ONE thing that your game(s) were known for – PVP?

Now I remember when I first heard about GW2 that I was so hyped up that I saw it as the holy grail of PvP games(and to this day I strongly feel that it has the best combat out of any MMO I have played). Also the fact that you can go into PvP and the only thing that separates the good players from the bad players is skill (no farm, no grind just pure skill) is the single best thing about your PvP in comparison to other games (heck even counterstrike is less fair, if one team wins they get $ advantage).

Now all this being said and praised I can not, for the love of god, understand how you went from THE PvP game (GW1) to this mess of unbalance and, frankly, boring design that is the current GW2 and its bunker meta. I mean it is not like you guys are inexperienced at designing PvP.

To the community> Am I the only one that is at a loss for words when trying to explain how someone with a reputation for designing PvP designs such a huge mess?

Yeah this is a mess, matching system is so screwed up and some groups are exploiting matchups. Also losing pips in hot join because another player disconnects is so not a great idea. Who comes up with this kitten? It is taking all the fun out of this game and making the community even more hostile to players. Class balance has made a thief a liability so that the class is broke in the current meta. Again who comes up with this kitten? Don’t you have anyone that thinks this stuff through?

Of course it did. He was part of ArenaNet since early GW1.

Isn’t he one of the main guys behind creating Skyhammer? I doubt his departure change much.

PvP’s been going downhill since 2 of the 3 founders left.

My guess is that they enlisted the ‘help’ of a few ‘pro’ PvP players to test stuff they can’t test such as higher end PvP matches, and those players completely misled them, and even though they found many of not all of the worse broken builds, instead reporting them so they can be addressed, they kept them for themselves, and as soon as things were released, boom.

It wouldn’t be the first time people pretending to ‘help’ are actually helping only themselves.
