How do I counter ele healing to full?

His main condition removal and healing comes from his water atunement.
When you see him switch to water is when he’s gonna heal a lot, so you want to either have cc ( if they don’t have armor of earth available ) and or Poison / high condition coverage ( having a lot of different conditions to prevent him from removing the important one )
Also, saying you’re a toolkit engi doesn’t mean much. Toolkit doesn’t define a build by itself.

As an engi, you will want to rifle 4 him when you see him switch attunement (icon over their name). Magnet pull will be too slow for the interrupt. If you use FT, you could try to blast him too or shield 5 for the daze. If you are pistol, use pistol 2 or eg 3. You might want to have a sigil of doom so when you swap to kit/weapon you can hit him with poison.
EDIT: You can also use grenades for the chill after you do the interrupt if you have it. Otherwise you could do a sigil of hydromancy. If you can CC, poison and chill then you have locked them out of healing.
Poison, boonstrip, and burst. One or all three if you want to rek them mercilessly. If you don’t have a thief or mesmer to coordinate a burst with, idk what to say :P. Necro boon corrupting also works for shutting a lot of his sustain down. Idk much about engi, so I can’t give specific builds/combos.

Nothing. You do nothing. Any decent Ele will have more mitigation than you have damage or CC and even if you make them blow it all, they’ll have more mobility than you and just teleport/sprint/lightning rush away and heal up somewhere else. There’s a reason they’re Meta^2, and that reason is because a good Ele can 1v4 and still walk out, heal, then come back in at full health if played right. It takes great team coordination to lock down a properly played Ele. Solo, all you can hope to do is make them blow one or two extra cooldowns.
Try your best to have ele use their cooldowns.
Hope your teammate thief can arrive before you die.
Wait till they switch out of water attunement, that’s your brief DPS window, hope for the best

you dont. thats why ele dominates, has its own category and thats why everyone plays 2-4 eles on their team.
A few things:
1. Chill and poison.
2. If they are running signet of restoration, they are more vulnerable to condition damage because they will lack the ‘Oh crap’ cleanses of renewal. If they aren’t running signet, they will possibly be running renewal, so save your your interrupt for the channel.
3. If water traited, they will heal when attuning to water. They will also have a dodge roll heal and comparable dagger #5 heal. This is their singular way of burst self healing assuming daggers. This will give you a 10ish second window to wreck them before they can burst heal again (2 of the three heals will be available the next time).
