So, I’m running a defensive/support D/D Elementalist and can 2v1 without a problem most of the time, but this Mesmer was ridiculous.

How do you kill this?

How to kill a good mesmer.

1). Be a class that can constantly pump out massive AoE damage so they don’t have clones and phantasms to hide behind.

2). Run away as fast as you can until you can get backup from a team member that can perform 1.

Mesmers are exremely difficult to 1v1 against right now, even for another memser it is more of a kite party see who can spam clones/phantasms faster than the other. Best advice, don’t charge the mesmer unless you are the one with the +1 running with you to kill them.

best 1v1 proff in the game currently.

Don’t have 13k max hp and use a build that does an average of 200 dmg per hit would be my guess :P

I’m playing with ele too but in a highly crit build, and I’m always trying to do AoE skills in the middle of “them”, and most of the time killing all his clones. Also i’m trying to keep away from his AoE fields, and trying to remove confusion whenever i can. It’s working quite good for now, especially when playing against not so good mesmers.

So i guess the key is AoE damage, as Sjach also said…

Didn’t I mention somewhere I can 2v1 without a problem? Yeah, that’s because I did.

I’m a tough/heal/condition damage build, don’t worry about my health.

Well maybe you haven’t noticed, but what killed you was bleeds.

I don’t see the point of opening a thread like this, asking “what to do” and then not being able to actually take the feedback into account.

When you have 11 stacks of confusion on you, don’t cast anything lol. Just try to evade until the debuff is gone.

Basically don’t engage a mesmer without a team where the stacks of confusion will be more spread out otherwise you will just kill yourself trying to do anything because confusion hurts yourself on everything including auto attack. Pretty broke concept there that the only way you can defend yourself from a CD based game is do nothing but use the move buttons or kill yourself.

Protip: There are 2 key abilities that would severly hurt ure chances of beating him.

Null field: (makes a glass shatter sound) removes boons from foes and conditions from allies. Pulses every second. U stood in this when he cast it close to himself.

Chaos storm (bubble with lightning strikes) – stack all the debuffs over time so long as u stay in it. U stood in this aswell.

Combine this with auto attack from staff – (winds of chaos – bounces between foes stacking conditions and boons to allies) and warlock phantasm (does damage based on how many conditions) and ure condition spec goes out the window.

Looks like just a mesmer running condition spec with scepter/pistol off hand. (didnt c him try to melee) staying out of his aoe, bringing ur own aoe and some condition removal should stomp him. Oh, and dont attack when he has chaos armour up (bubble) it works the same as chaos storm only works off attack against him.
