How does the community feel about Engineer?
i regularly play tpvp with a roamer on my team engi using rifles hes really good and hes magnet, knockbacks and immobilises are invaluble, not too mension he does great burst dmg, keep with it, because actually i think being a good player is more important than class.. and u know they bring alot more variety than a glass warrior or thief, though personally i feel glass thief could be fixed by adding small dmg increases but removing the pull on heartseaker and adding a very small cast time too steal, so that it interupts spells (no more mug/cnd/bs) builds (i actually play thief)
anyways i think more emphasis should be on mastering a class and all its utility and being adaptable especially if new game modes are introduced. people wont just stick to the boring bunker cannon mentality

Glass Cannon Power Engineers always terrify me if they are played well, it is nothing like thief burst, you would be fighting them thinking things are going well, then all of a sudden wonder where all your health went.
They can fill a wide variety of roles so don’t give up, my team has an engineer as a home point holder and he does quite well holding out until support arrives.
I play engineer these days. I play it because it has a lot of diverse options for builds, which keeps me interested. I’ve tried many, many builds. Rifle, pistol and P+S variations of Elixir, Gadget and various kits.
I would agree that there are no engi builds to match the top-flight burst DPS, bunkers, or nodal domination DPS. However, there are one or two builds that do seem to shine in non-standard ways. You just need a team that can find a good use for those.
At the moment, I am playing a spec I never thought would be usable in tPvP, despite being great in PvE. It’s bomb/EG with kit refinement. The aoe healing and condition removal, combined with a decent level of area damage makes it very strong when supporting a scrap for a node.
I hate glass cannon engineers, i dont know what to do they do damage such in a weird way, compared to a thief you just know they are all the same kitten you know exactly when to dodge and what to use against their noob backstab or heartseeker spam.
Engie is pretty rubbish, but in a constrained sort of way. Like others have said, once you get the hang of how it works, it can prove to be VERY powerful. Its kinda like, with other classes you go for up front power, or sustained dps, or condi damage. Engie sort of has to do all of them at once, which can make them very unpredictable.
Jump into the mist and have a bash about with different set ups and weapons (I say the mists because its free and everything is unlocked, bar racial elites)

Until you play a few dozen games and understand what classes bring to the table in tPvP, then it’s:

2) Guardian
3) Necro, Ele, Engineer
4) Thief
5) Warrior, Ranger

2)Guardian
3)Portal
