How, exactly, is this fair matchmaking?!
Looks normal. You had some unbalanced games as the rating/matching system stabilizes. And you had some normal, close SoloQ games.
If you are playing a glass cannon, try a more team supportive build to add a bit of an edge toward the win.
Silentshoes (Thief), Wind of the Woods (condi ranger)
Maybe because solo queue has no rating? Also rank means nothing.
let things settle down BEFORE start complaining.
This is an mmo forum, if someone isn’t whining chances are the game is dead.

Think before you post.
Because I don’t know how to say it constructive, i’ll just show it, so see attachment… and that’s not even half of the games I played today…
My personal favorites are the first two “games”
there still some things that need adjusting.
same as having 3 guards on 1 side , without a guard in the other party. ^^
- 1 profession of each / group
- more or less same rank’s against each other
- find a way to stop premades of syncing into solo Q ( seen some good ideas on the forum for this " make a pool of players before assigning a player to a team)
sure if you play a new kind of character you wont be as good as your rank would suggest. BUT the experience of the player stays the same.
if you need to practice your new character , learn the basics of it in hotjoin then.
If 500:87 with ranks 1, 5 and 22 on the losing team seems normal, then I wish you all have such games, but not having my luck and be placed with the beginners (which weren’t supposed to be Qed in high ranks, if I recall correctly from the patch few weeks ago).
Also, I could give you the names of the other 2 players to ask them how much fun they had.
Oh, and ranks measures the time spent PvPing, be it in tourneys or hotjoin. It’s not indicative of one’s skill, but at least shows that he is more experienced.
Huygens, follow your own advices.

I think he meant normal because it also happened before. Let’s wait a bit until leaderboards stabilize.
because he doesn’t know it himself
People just need to think of solo Q like hot joins. You WILL get games where you have no shot at winning from the start.
There is no way to do perfect matchmaking unless you want to wait forever for q pop.
Overall, you need to look at the ratings with proper perspective.
Some builds/professions/players will distinguish themselves and get a higher than 50% win percentage.
However, no matter how good YOU are…it’s unlikely to overcome the delta of having one or more totally new/inexperienced players on your team versus the other team
If this were true Arena style pvp, then maybe an individual stud could compensate for weaker players. However, in a conquest style setting, the team with the most synergy and experience will negate 1 stud.
It’s going to take awhile for people to get adjusted.
Unfortunately, some never will because solo Q people are usually ones that are focused on their 1v1 performance and not team performance.
Aw, i thought anet would fix this in current patch and at least make some rank restrictions. Hm, so matchmaking is a piece of cat, and it can’t even properly spread players into teams. Lets wait another year, just be patient, guys.
Almost nothing in this game will ever be fixed.
Anet fix things only if it might increase gemstore sales.
