Q:
How many necros in ToL 3 ?
A:
in the matches i saw, i saw… none. I saw the same 5 classes + 1: Thieves, Guardians, Engies, Warriors, and Eles, + a few Mesmer (Thanks god a mesmer was in the winning team).
same as it ever was.
Maybe this will be different from NA.
At least I encounter dozens of power necros every day I play.
Generally, NA has the best necro there is so yes Abjured will run a necro but otherwise it’s not very smart to have that weight on your shoulders. It’s a required thing to monitor instead of running pretty much anything else. As this meta is based on focus damage a mesmer is much better to run if it is possible cause the focused damage is on a 10s CD instead of the 35+ for the necro wells. So look for more mesmers and less necro’s. But abjured will guaranteed run one.

Except that Noscoc typically runs condition in a tournament setting which doesn’t use wells, just the AoE condi bombs from staff and DS and then usually wurm/walk/corrupt for utilities.

Nos switched to power a while back, so yes he does use wells.

Oh.. well I haven’t really kept up with the game for a while.. the high level tournament footage I watched of him from a few months ago, he ran condition, so I’m basing it off of that.
And yeah with wells its really easy to just walk out of them. I’d argue that they’re more for area denial, while the actual necro “burst” comes from high damage autoattacks and passive procs.

The wells can be placed inside Ring of Judgment, on top of a corpse, or on an Immobilized foe. Those are the main ways to make sure that damage goes off.
Competitive Warrior, Ele, Mesmer, Ranger, Engineer, Thief
Cant wait for NA ToL to see one.
Literally.
