Just wonder how many of you quitted pvp content of this game, or this game wholly since very poor grinding pvp arena is implemented?

For me, I now mainly play another MMO that has equalized gear and level pvp arena just like this game since Demcember pvp update of gw2. What about you?

I think i wouldn’t play gw2 that much unless Anet nerfs cele engi and cele ele and pu mes and bring back pure solo arena and its leaderboard. i know it wont happen though.

Nah, whatever. it is totally anet’s business who make its customer come back or not. i just wonder how many of you have quitted or still be playing. It will be also helpful to anet to estimate user population anyway.

Since the patch ive been playing much less ive noticed, when i do play a match its just frustrating. Never thought id say this “again” but i’m thinking of re-subbing to WoW now that i cant solo queue on this game. =/

Quit pvp, not sure on quitting the game entirely I do have a guild of players I enjoy playing with, but I’m tired of PvE and WvW. Leaving me with little choice. Solo Q was what kept me playing daily now I don’t even log in for more then 15 mins at a time.

If you feel that something is wrong, do your best to change it. Check link on my signature, maybe you will see there solution for some of your problems.

Not quit . . . but play a lot lot less.

Maybe those who just pvp solo arenas and actually liked the previous system. As being part of a team, I’m fine with tpvp and the leaderboards, regardles if time played = higher standing.

It’s not even fun anymore. You can play 20 matches in a row and not even get a single decent/fun game. Not to mention you can end up losing 19 of those 20 matches even though you can 1v2 1v3 the opposite team members without a struggle, but the rest of your team still manages to lose every. single. fight. even 4v2/4v3. It blows my mind.

That and the ridiculous amount of 500-50 matches.

Que times and such make it a bit harder to solo que. but i needed to do my world completion anyway so I only half stopped.

Top players have become inactive lately in the EU. They still show up for ESLs but apart from that, there is nothing for a decent PvP player to do anymore.

When it comes to soloq, it’s a nightmare, at least in my experience. I’ll still continue to play in a group, however I’m never doing soloq again, unless some of these issues get addressed.

Well, I’m off to Warlords of Draenor for a while I guess. Tested out leaderboards, they’re cool. But it’s still the same game mode, still same maps, still stale September meta.

I mean, I do above okay with my Necro and Ranger, but…
What’s new?

Also, World PvP has been temporary ressurected in WoW and it’s way more fun than running around t1 WvW looking for any small engagement or duelling against same things over and over.

This new daily is quite nice reward wise, I’ve been experiencing a lot more closer games, and the leaderboards give me a chance to actually make it to top 25 so the incentive for me to play is there.

Before this patch, I was getting on crazy losing streaks, 17 games in a row. I’ve been getting better games post patch. I’ve shown the evidence as well.

It doesnt bother you that the leaderboard has nothing to do with skill? its dominated by mediocre or less than players with more time on their hands then anything.

I play more than ever, PvP is amazing, yes some times you get 50:500 blowouts but they are quite rare in my bracket, I mostly get games somewhere in the 300:500 range.

I’ve been playing less, because the incentive from PvP only comes from ESL, and other big tournaments. Honestly the top will continue to win those tournaments, until another team steps up their game. The leaderboard at the moment is based on how much games you win. Top 250 gets a Mini Llama, good for the casuals who don’t have it yet. I already have like 4, and a few others who don’t need another one. As much as the top 5-25 for glorious armor goes, that is nice, but the armor doesn’t appeal to me so much (personal opinion).

There needs to be a Division Bracket system to have a representation of who is still new to the best at the game, and with unique rewards/milestones for each bracket. I barely do team queues anymore, because you’re mostly farming new players or disorganized teams. It’s a bad habbit, and will often create lax routines. The only good teams are the top teams and super pugs from those top teams that give a challenge. Also the people I use to play with in tourneys a lot don’t play, so it isn’t fun and not the same. The synergy and vibe isn’t there, which is why I haven’t been on a team in a while.

I’ve been getting back into breakdancing (b-boy4life), because I miss dancing and it is a good way to relieve stress

I have been playing a bit of LoL (Poro King ARAM)/DotA (The Superior Moba)/Tera (New Content)/Dance Dance Revolution (DDR)/Streetfighter/Super Smash Brothers Melee.

I log onto GW2 to catch up on whatever content comes up, dailys, fractals, fool around in pvp for a bit. Then the game goes stale.

I’ll admit the game has the best combat fluidity, but it just lacks the content that the other MMO’s give. Which is why I haven’t quit the game yet. The game seriously needs a big expansion.

Yeah I’m not getting those blowouts either, well I had a few but I was only on the losing side of one of those.

Nope, because I play a lot and some of those people on that top 25, I see often. I’m glad they get rewarded finally. Those skillful players, they may be good, but I RARELY see them. There needs to be some kind of incentive to get them to actually play more so I can see them. Like Phantaram, never seen that dude in game EVER. Supposeably he’s been to every kind of tournament NA, but…. NEVER SEEN him in game in a pvp game.

Now what does bother me is dishonor being off. First game I encountered post patch where we had a leaver. Thankfully everyone on my team was really good. They all knew what the kitten to do. Also wasn’t that great of a match either, but I guess that guy leaving made it somewhat even lol.

But back to point. If your really that amazing, and people haven’t seen you in the actual game, do you really deserve to be top 25 on leaderboard? Sure you may be good, but you don’t ever play. Its good how it recognizes people that do play. It’s not completely based of who plays the most so don’t gimme that “its a grinding thing now.”

People just want an easy way to make it to the top. If your good, than go win games, at the right time, face other good players, and make yourself known on the leaderboard by doing so.

Quitting Guild Wars 2 as a whole?
That depends on Anets vision of high end pve content.
If that does not improve I will probably leave.

Quitting pvp?
I will stop playing solo, and only rarely when I have a team that is for sure.
I do not know how the new matchmaking works, but it seems borked to me.

Skillwise, I am not a pro player, rank 69 ( shark ).
Before the patch my games were pretty even, you win some and you lose some.
Sometimes I won loads in a row, sometimes I lost quite a few.
In the end it averaged out 50/50.

Since the path I played over 75 games.
Got creamed in ~70 of those.
Everytime I get faced with premades, or facing Jebro/Rom/Tage.
I am nowhere near that skill level.
Yet whenever I queue, that is what happens.
premades, top players, full dragon teams…

Until the matchmaking is fixed to be more..realistic, so I don’t lose 30+ times in a row between each win, I will probably let pvp be.

Always loved the format despite its obvious shortcomings, but this is just not fun to me anymore.

Losing is ok, you learn from mistakes.
But not like this.

I hit top #4 around 5 times in previous soloq leaderboard for last 6 months, but i dont think i can do that again in this system cuz basically it requires me that i do have to grind those points -.- (i have no time to spend all my time into game) gl anyway on your journey to top# 10

For me the worst part is the absolute refusal of ANET to fix balance issues. Why is the D/D cele ele still not nerfed? Why does engi keep getting buffed?

I seriously question whether ANET even has a balance team anymore. Knowing them, they are probably off creating some more useless traits and instead of fixing the core issues.

I am no longer soloing into ranked queue. Having fun again in unranked.

I bought a harp from gem store and play that instead of pvp… I’d only play pvp if I have a full team or at least when I’m so bored that I literally have nothing else to do.

i keep hearing (reading in forums) people say that the sPvP leader board became a grind, but grinding 50 matches and not winning at least half of them and scoring at least 400+ in lost matches will not get very high up in the leader board.

Have to agree with this guy.
Game does lack a lot of content.
Also, that vibe to actually party with others is kinda not there anymore although this system is similar to an older system, I think everyone is just sooo used to soloing that they don’t even look at partying or trying to do it anymore.

As far as leaderboards, maybe some content would be an actual arenanet hosted in game tournament on say Friday. And it gave out 100 leaderboard points to the victors, and give some points to participants and everyone gets an exotic reward and victors ascended chest or something good but not too good.

Not only would those top players stop whining its all about grinding, but the casuals would have more than usual reason to actually try and form parties.

Obviously they’d have to add other stuff in game to make it so people keep playing, it used to be to grind rank out, but everyone that grinded is pretty much max already. I’m pretty sure marvin is already fully achieved in pvp competitor, theres like nothing left for him to do. There should always be something to do and if theres nothing left to do than the developers are slacking and need to figure out other things to do to keep people involved. As in more content like he said.

You know with this new system I kinda feel like spectating has gone down hill. You need to bring it back. I think ranked games should be spectated. People just going to have to deal with some teams having other people helping them out.

Sports are spectated live, esports/ ranked games should be too. You need a star rating system too. This game its kinda hard to tell whose playing and bond with other people. Seeing same people play again and again eventually you become friends with them and or rivals, spectating makes this easy.

Theres so many other things this game could be doing too. This isn’t the place to post them all, and you developers should be steps ahead of the community, we shouldn’t be to the point where we are burnt out and you don’t realize it, you should be ahead of us and keep adding more content when you notice we get burnt out.

Also, I haven’t seen any dev’s play recently. Use to hear stories about them playing, but never hear any rumors like that anymore. You guys should be involved in your own game.

As a lot of other people say, this game has so much potential, so much this game can do to make it better. Sad seeing it not happen.

I won’t quit, and I probably won’t even play less. I’ve been hooked on Gw1/Gw2 games and their PvP for nearly 10 years now. But I am not kidding when I say my enthusiasm drops quite a bit each time ArenaNet sabotages their game.

The last version of the leaderboards was kitten too.
They have a test-season (this one), to get data and make adjustments. If you’re that fed up, come back some time after 13 january.

i do find myself doing and wanting to do alot less pvp. its not the matchmaking that frustrates me but the farmer/tdm attitude of so many players.
probably just going to start playing wvw more, the times i play are very active and i can pvp, gather, and pve all on the same maps. way way more entertaining than spvp. the only downside is not getting as much Tomes of Knowledge to get more 80s with less effort.

umm did you even read the thread or the op? this isnt about leaving in the middle of a game.

Play was not fun. Fact.

Stopped ranked entirely. Disappointing experience.
May quit the game entirely because logging in and doing a couple of soloqs was my definition of fun

I stopped playing out of frustration.
I log in one or twice a month to chat with some friends that still play the game and I log back out.

I’m playing another mmo and I’m having allot of fun and have no reason to come back atm.

Judging by this year’s patches and despite the devs effort to make the game better imo it is getting worse every time so… I don’t think ill come back at all unfortunately, I really liked the game…

The only thing i do is pvp in this game (was ?) but as it is now completely unplayable unless you join as a team i won’t play anymore.
I’ll be back only after a proper solution is put in place.

Probably done with spvp myself, its pretty boring to be matched with mismatched teams so much.
