Commander Gammaburst, Warr 80 – IoJ
Headhunter Jaeger, Thief 80 – IoJ
As the title asks: How this pvp meta became as it is?
What was the event that set the starting point?

This is not a full condi meta anymore.
Conditions happen to be on AI, passive and sure-hit AoE skills, plus they’re not hard-countered by Protection.
Too much passive proc be it trait or sigils plus spammy AOEs, both of which do not need much thinking to hit or land.
well, i remember the first days of pvp and the hard-hit burst builds that ruled.
did burst builds got nerfed? i dont remember that
maybe it’s just that so few professions have access to free and easy condition removals?
once upon a time there were 3,maybe 4 kind of players:
-the bunker ones
-the burst ones
-the condition ones
-the balanced ones
not it seems that just the condition ones still remain..
I play as a DPS (whit my guardian) and I kill a lot of enemy. But play that kind of build is difficult, more than use a necro. AoE condition spam, fear, sigil and you’re death. Too easy to don’t play it as a meta class/build.
Ranger too is a very good condition dealer. I play ranger condition at the begin of the game, whit a very very bad build (the first pve I’ve done XD) and I was able to kill a melee enemy easy.
Then all the player follow the warrior in the burst way. Then all follow the ele in midbunker way, then all follow the necro in the condition build.
It’s just a phase.
If you see, there’s a large amount of condition class, but there’s a large amount of warrior, guardian, thief, mesmer, that don’t play as a condition dealer.
The condition damage can be the better way to win easy, today, but there’s a large number of class that don’t play that meta.
