How to defeat druid 1 vs 1?
get em to use avatar early and outplay them
and/or
surprise burst em
Either way you are kind of relying on them to make mistakes. And you are never going to win a slow steady 1v1
There weakness is they are worse off in team fights, whereas a tempest is a lot better to have around.
Your best odds are being a Reaper, or a very skilled mallyx rev since we don’t deal with conditions. Druids excel in 1v1s, best thing they have going for them. As Mightbird said, we don’t do well in team fights since we are easily focused down.
As a DH usually don’t stand a chance to “win” against decent Druids, but due the longbow knock back each 10 seconds, the F1 and the greatsword #5, plus the dazes, I have good chances to break the point, which is what matters. You don’t need to kill the tank to win in this meta, just to keep them out from the ring in time to time. Of course, this is invalid in Foefire’s ^^
You really don’t beat good druids in 1v1. At equal skill, a few classes can get stalemate, but killing them is insanely difficult.
Just get a quick +1. Druids falls apart when fighting 2 peoples.
Sadly I still see way too many people not +1 their close when the enemy druid is contesting it at the opening. Which is why druid is pretty good as a solo queue carry :/

Europe, Vizunah.
Druid basically wins every 1v1 except against good tempest eles and other good druids which will end in a stalemate.
Only situation you can beat him is when he has no f5 up but you have to be a very good reaper / condi rev
Trebuchet … XD
I think burn guard has a fair chance at killing em.
Playing Smite since mid s2, f broken gw2.
Moa ~ Feel the rage of them QQing how bad and noob’ish you are for using such a cheap and OP spell while he tried to skillfully bunker a point.
/Lol

Not really to be honest. Not enough conditions burn guard can apply to cover up their burning when the druid condi clears.
2v1 them. They die extremely quickly against any kind of significant pressure.
The condi removal from the glyphs only remove 2 at a time after a delay. Most of them don’t spec for extra condi removal as it would drop their damage too much.
Necro should be favored 1v1 unless you are viper. Maybe condi revs too.
But yes they die fast from focus too.
Short answer: you don’t.

The heal is a survival skill, which they usually traot for doiuble condi removal.
They run 2 glyph with will heal / remove 2 condi with the master druid trait.
Entering avatar remove everything on you, and gvie you access to spamming the 2 condi clear aoe.
They do run out of condi removal once the avatar is complete, but it’s not exactly the most vulnerable spec to it played. To kill a druid with conditions, you’ll have to stay alive fighting him and his OP pets for a pretty long time.

Spam conditions like a moron.
Wait for CA form, use power before then, bait signet of stone, make smart use of reflects or projectile destruction, and after CA form use conditions since CA skill 2 washes them.
go viper with nades and eg like chaithh … if you don’t die at start…. he surely dies
I don’t really have a problem against them as a Mallyx Rev. Don’t really know if it’s a good counter, but I’ve only seen so many Druids to actually give me trouble.
If you can manage to cc them inside a condition field, you can easily overload them with condis. Using your elite afterwards is a guaranteed burn through dodges/whatever as well. Also need to make sure to enter the fight with stability to avoid long duration ccs.

with a rev, mallyx glint stance, stacking up might before fight and force him to avatar after that you load condi on him and it’s almost dead..sure with a equal skilled player will be tough and you can’t mess up..but you have a chance for sure. if the equal skilled player know the rev cand hard counter your effort to kill him and you are kittened.
be aware of pets they really hurts.
rip boons on him so you’ll stack up confusion, dodge when needed but try to keep stab up on you prenventing long stuns

boonstrip + stunlock = gg
Roll a Bunker Mes or Bunker Ele and Druid can never kill you.
Roll a Condition Viper Rev and you can easily kill a Druid.
Roll another Druid.
Simple as that.
Been running a Chrono home point defender (not full bunker) using Inspiration, Illusions, Chrono. When druids come to contest they melt over time to constant torment/confusion application (cleansing is pointless as reapplication is consistent).
Power Lockdown Chrono can interrupt/lockdown a druid. But this is high skill level play, and you’ll rarely see one in the meta atm for obvious reasons.
Berserker Bunker Buster can do it thanks to the unexpected unblockables, that and a well timed headbutt stun into GS burst. Mess it up though and you’ll be waiting for another round XD
It’s more fun to +1 them anyway since at that point they’re sitting ducks.

If a Druid die to a Berserker or Mesmer, it’s 100% L2P issue on Druid’s part.
Druid vs Mes should be a stale fight that never ends.
Druid vs any type of Warrior is basically a free win if Druid doesn’t get jumped, or start when all his skills are on CD.
Druids have no stability except for their elite, boon strip it or wait it out (10s) and knock them around. they’re easy to kill if you have half a brain.

I been 1 shotted in SPvP by DH traps that were just laying around while in full cleric gear with added toughtness from it.
So I dont see why not.
I play a reaper.
As a reaper, I counter druids.
I will destroy them in 1v1s, team fights, and skirmishes.
Your answer is simply to play a condition heavy reaper. If you do not believe me,
message me in-game with your druid and we can duel, crushing 1v1 centric builds with reaper is quite entertaining.
One spam to rule them all!

I agree. As Druid, I often lost to truly skilled Reaper(legendary division usually) if they start the fight with 70%+ LF. Druid’s strong point is CC and burst, and if you nullify both with high hp and stability and heavy condition, Druid will fall under your feet.

I run wander’s amulet with spite sig corrupt boon vamp sig and plague sig (specced into spite ofc) and against a regular flavor of the month reroller druid need 0% DS to beat them in a perfect 1v1 scenario. Against an elite druid I need at least 30% and most CDs to be up. If I had 70% plus, all the druid can do is run, or be flattened. Same with Bunker mesmers.

Never had an issue with them on my warrior.

In WvW I probably also would’t have problems against PvE-Druids who want to replay the battle for middle-earth
