Hi All!

I have been playing since release, but never really focused on sPvP. I didn’t like the only game mode available, and it felt too static.

Now that I got bored of WvW(too much zerging, can’t find roamer)/PvE, I came back to sPvP. Now I kinda like it, I found what lacked in WvW : Skills without zerging.

I would like to find a team for tPvP, but I have been looking for one for 1-2 weeks and didn’t find anything.

Is there a place where you can apply or another forum?

I have 2 strike on me :

1- I’m only level 12.
2- I’m an engineer.

I’m bored of playing sPvP, as it’s just random and people only play for score. (I do too, since I need to up my ranking to have a chance to get a team).

And when I PUG for tPvP, I never get past the second game. I always end up versus a premade on TS that kick our kitten really bad.

Join some guilds, ask in the guilds if anyone is running PVP teams. Other than that look on the forums for teams recruiting. The guilds option works better for the most part, until you get to Paids.

I’m rank 13 and I’ve been doing tpvp since r11 without a solid team. First I solo queud but I still kept trying to get into teams. And eventually some teams pick you up. These days it doesn’t take me longer than 15min.

As the community is rather small and you’re a low rank you have to perform better or in most cases it’s a kick soon after. :p So if you’re sure about your individual ‘skill’ you should try and get into groups. (No need to be pro ofc, which is impossible by just doing spvp, understanding your role/class is allready good enough)

Communicating is also a must. It shows that you’re listening and you’re willing to learn.

Eventually you get to know people to do tournies with, etc.
One problem: Once you’ve done it with a decent team, you’ll never wanna do spvp/solo queu :p.

The more you play and the better you get, you can pug out people by yourself and depend less of your rank.

Anvil Rock is the HUB for NA sPvP no? Socialize with the map channel, this will help you get in good parties for frees (even for paids over time).

Keep doing hotjoins for points, once you get past 25, pug in /m for frees.

The main “tip” is to socialize with the well known active players through the channel – best weapon of a newbie (new commer).

Edit: +1 to what Butch said. As an engineer, learn to hold a point/decap it/keep it contested. Free teams usually go 1 home, 1 back of keep, rest keep. or 1 home 2 crossing to farpoint, 1 back keep 1 keep. Get the “feeling” of what’s going on with your team, will make you perform better.

So I will prolly have to hot join until higer level huh?

You can enter the tourneys alone, you get randoms in team.

Also, if any r30+ wants to team up with me for tourneys sometimes (NA region atm) I’m up for it.

Don’t spvp, it will ruin your experience for pvp. I personally have been tournying since rank 3 and I’ve enjoyed every bit of it. Although at the beginning I will admit that I got flat out rejected for being bad and also being an engineer. It really did hurt when people kept rejecting me. I thought to myself, “How the hell am I supposed to get better if I can’t practice with a team?!?!” And I’ll say it here, it’s not easy to find a team that will accept you if you aren’t top tier. The best I can say is, keep asking around and if all else fails, make your own team. But alot of the people in Anvil Rock will be more than willing to help you improve and will answer any questions you have, including myself. Hope everything works out and if you’d like help with engineer, shoot me a PM! It’s the only class I’ve played so I personally feel I know a thing or 2 haha.

No, I don’t think so. There are several very decent, high-population guilds that accept anyone regardless of rank. Scroll through a couple of pages of forum topics and you’ll probably find several guilds advertising for people just getting into tournaments. iPug and tPvP are two guilds off the top of my head that will take any rank but have some really good players in their ranks as well.
