I think Arena Net don’t realize that the current players of mmo, unlike GW first name , need "real reward " to be motivated.

I say this because the economy GW2 hold a very important place in this universe, and it isn’t possible, unimaginable, without causing fatigue, to imagine most players play without receiving any reward as PvE.

There or there was a lot of event , such as " running the sanctuary ," or even " survival" , where players receive a chest with a random item quality + 10 to 15 silver .

As with other games, I think awful lot of players would be able to gain experience for PvE while playing PvP. You could ensure that it doesn’t work that only on tournament .

Moreover implement PvP seasons , as WvW , would also put more success and reward according to the rank achieved ( as league on league of legends ? ) . Many players love to farm success , but the success in PvP is first very long to finish, and gives very little point in relation to spend time to unlock …
So if you put up a league of 5-6 weeks (like starcraft II), with achievements to unlock, exclusive awards season to win, you can be certain awful lot of players come join!

Only with these three ideas, many more players come to play in PvP, which says more players means less queuing, says a lot more activity, says a lot more teams, so why don’t more tournament soon?

If you really want to increase the population of your PvP game, it is high time to make a serious “gesture”, allowing PvP Tournament receive as a gift, if win, a chest with a random object and silver . And also gain experience PvE for his character! Succes, challenge are also the key to earn more people in PvP tournament :-)

Get rid of the kittenty game mechanics.

Ridiculously OP Warriors with passive high stat builds that deal huge damage, can chain cc and have huge survivability against power and condi builds.

Tone down the effectiveness of such easy specs as the Spirit Ranger spamming auto-attacks and getting huge bleed stacks and burn procs from range then spamming evade / dodge.

And sort out how the game fundamentally works.
In some ways it’s almost like they intentionally designed a bad game.
There are no cast bars so you have to watch for what your opponent uses by looking for an animation.

But, then they introduce a midget race – the Asura who have tiny animations that can’t be seen in mobile combat, and have some animations for key skills that look like basic attack skills.

Any thought of combat is covered in a massive light-show that makes watching combat and looking for key abilities a hallucinogenic joke for the player and tiring for any potential viewer or caster.

They introduce terrible conditions like Confusion and Torment that punish you for playing the game, where is the thinking in making skill use and movement punish the player in a game about moving and using skills.

Did the GW2 skill designers study at the University of Sadism under Professor Viscous?

Simply put, the game isn’t that fun to play.
It’s more frustrating to play against most game mechanics and current meta builds than it is fun and rewarding and it’s even worse when you try to view it.
So the player-base is low and the viewership is abysmal.

Then you have an incredibly slow development pace that does minuscule changes 4 times a year which drives people away with its languid pace, is it any wonder that the game has hemorrhaged so many players?
Seriously, who wants to put up with Hambow Healing Signet Warriors for 6 months…

Rewards don’t matter that much, if the game was fun to play more people would play it. Right now it’s not very fun, most people only play because they are waiting for something else. The majority have left and are playing different games already.

Make it more fun. Let me choose the map I want. Not 19 of 10 matches only 1 time my favourite map.

I don’t think experience is an appropriate reward for a number of logistic reasons, but gold would be fabulous, basically rewards akin to mini-games. More achievements would be nice, too, since you don’t get as many compared to PvE, but then people complain about PvEers in PvP. Everybody wants a thriving community, but the elitists don’t want to share the game with others.

Incidentally, I found that I enjoyed PvP a lot more when I found a profession and build that worked for me (and unless I made one by accident, it’s not even a preferred build.) The games have also been providing me with more of those great moments that make me feel like I made a difference.

Not a fan of the recent changes to immobilize, though. Right now it’s just annoying but it does diminish the fun.
