I wish I could write down all those bad feelings but nevermind that.
I just want to know what you think about current meta and all classes that you meet during your both ranked and unranked matches.

Have you ever felt so mad, that you passed that certain threshold and your mind has ascended into a higher state of tranquility ? I know my just did that.

I could go on and on about certain things but I’ll let you take the torch for now.

I feel the same way I’ve always felt. The mantra “If its not in meta its not viable” is strong and I hate that. I want to soloQ my reaper with a greatsword and be viable. I want meaningful variety and overall condi tonedown. But thats not gonna happen anytime soon. The meta chase it way too strong and always one dimensional.

Before anyone points it out I’ve seen videos of a greatsword reaper scoring some sweet crits but that dude plays premades and is almost always supported by party boons. Solo queue is a diff story.

i hate ele (a lot) and scrapper (a bit).

I think build need more customization (stat and weapon skill, having 2 choice for slot is an idea..)than what we have actually.

and at least 3 viable role for profession.
i really like the hard counter meta, ex. in this meta we have a lot of necro and dh, i want at least 2 class that can totally shutdown/destroy them.
in gw1 i have lot of fun creating build that can totally destroy one kind of gameplay…yes my build will be destroyed by all other but…was still fun.

Of all I feel that druids are the most problem for me, most of the time.
If you have a spec that is heavily offensive and grab healing stats, you won’t do much.
If you have a spec that is heavily supportive and grab damaging stats, you will do good at worst.

Due to not that high health pool, heals that druids have are sufficient, let’s add up pets that also dish out damage (not everyone has reflect for bristlecarry).
I can do CC chains quite nicely but it all goes to crap once they pop avatar or elite shout mixed with damage immunity signet.
It wouldn’t be that hard if pets were not the main source of burst damage. Most of the fights end up being outsustained. I see that necros have a good time with duds due to 2nd health pool soaking the damage and boon corrupt.

Honestly I take pride and hate in my sense of honorable, power based combat with active abilities and no passive procs. I left WoW due to that, even though GW2 pvp is better I think I might take a break cause my stupid pride won’t let me play and enjoy cheese/cancerous/passive and gimmick fueled classes (you name it).
The worst thing in all of that is that I do fairly good at pvp.

Revenant and Scrapper are more powerful.
Reaper is anoyingly easy and devasting close.
All three feel over the top.
Tempest, Crono , Thief, Druid (pet maybe still to hard) and Guardian seem to be OK. Tey need work but are not OP. Like tempest is forced to support that many eles don“t like and totaly lacks diversity despite so many theoretic options. Guard is great, but can be countered by good players with some builds which kicks them out of meta. Same with thief.
Warrior seems to have the short stick due to power creep. They can do great damage but in the end they somehow loose.
The meta is not only a result of best classes, its also a result of what is most stable. Thats why ele is in. The support is strong and makes the team stable. But ele itself lost a lot identity becoming pure support …
The power creep did no good. It is not the worst thing when elite is a bit stronger than base classes. you still need three traitlines. If elite gives identity its OK. But the overal class balace and diversity has becoem a mess. Hope that we can get all classes with multiple builds at about the same level which each class being unique. If every class can do/have all options its again booring. I see a lot of traits and skills (weapon and utility) have to be buffed/reworked to allow diversity. Also build counters are a good thing if not overstretched.

The Meta is lots better than Bunker Mes/Rev/Ele meta but build diversity is no where near prepatch where you would have at least 2 viable builds going for you.
(not to mention teams were consisted of zerks, mara, carrion/rabid, cele, amulet diversities before HoT)

Biggest pet peeve? I dont like the “balance out of unbalances” GW2 strategy. DH should be able to beat engi, rev & druid 1v1 but can’t. There are other classes who gets countered by X classes while also completely countering X classes. It should be a 50/50 chance of winning across the board, for every class. Not the “i’m going to avoid that class completely because he counters me” strategy.

I think the disappoint for me (and others judging from the responses), is that there’s only very specific things that are viable, be it classes, or weapon sets.

I think it would so much more fun, if you could use any weapon set (that is available to your class) and spec your character how you want. Right now, you pretty much know what build that Guardian/Necromancer/Mesmer etc in front of you is running, how they’re going to attack you, what weapon sets they have etc

Imagine how much it would shake things up if, for example, you see a Thief, he stealths and you prepare for a backstab, but instead he double pistols you, whilst you’re spinning around trying to guess where he might be.

That’s not exactly a good example, but I’m trying to say that your encounters with other players would be way more varied and keep you really on your toes, if we could spec up our characters with any builds we wanted, and be viable.
