But, sometimes I’m too late to a game. Is there a way to make the game warn you?

I read articles in between on my computer since Queues can take up to 6 minutes.

Dota2 pulsates it’s icon at Start panel at such moments

Something like that would be great or a sound notification. I haven’t been able to find a way, so there is none? :-/

My solution has been to run the game in windowed mode and just resize the window so I will hopefully see when the queue pops.

Yeah this has been an issue since queues were introduced. A simple audio notification would do - like we have for PMs or party changes.

Related: popups that steal focus, such as queue invites and those that pop up at the end of each Frac in FotM: can we please lose these? Make them flashier if you have to, but stop them from removing focus from other things - primarily the chat box!

Thank you very much, I’ll try this out. I should see the loading screen pop up this way. Is there a way to quickly switch between windowed mode and full screen?

Alt+Enter on windows. Before I had glowy skins (or characters with torches) I had fullscreen gamma turned waaay up and hit alt-enter when going into a dark area ^__^

we really need this feature, for example in world of tanks when the queue is ending the icon become red, very usefull

If you have the game volume turned up (and on so it still sounds in the BG) you can hear when the game is starting, but its not ideal

Uncheck the “Mute when GW2 is in the background” option. The announcer says “Last chance to nail down your strategy” after you get pulled into the match, so you should have 5-10 seconds to tab back into the game before the match starts.

I am still waiting for the ability to MOVE the little que pop window out of the middle of my screen though. Sometimes we aren’t alt tabbed, and are actually doing stuff, and this little obstructive piece of kitten is just sitting there, unmovable, unbreakable!

Not to sound like a sourpuss, but with every 3rd thread in here being a complaint about 4v5s and the ineffectiveness of the dishonour system, it’s pretty shameless of the OP to come in here and say “I keep missing my matches cause I’m reading articles on the web and FORGET TO CHECK ON THE QUEUE” and then to have the audacity to blame ANet for it too!

The problem is with your attention span, not the developers, and I’d rather Evan devote his time and resources to working on actual features rather than the online equivalent of a baby monitor for people like the OP. Things like that are convenience features, and we’re still lacking critical infrastructure. It seems to me that only someone with a gargantuan sense of entitlement would blame others for the fact that he’s ruining the playing time of his teammates, and insist that time and money be spent reminding him that he COMMITED to playing an arena game. If you consider 5’ to be too excessive a commitment maybe you should stick to hotjoin?

Yeah LOL takes you back to the game with a queue pop. Would love this feature.

as said before just make the game icon flash when something worthy happens ingame.

get 9 players
‘ready’ check-box pops up (including sound notification AND client pops in front)

Some type of visual queue would be the best option, some people don’t play with sound or have it low, so audio wouldn’t be the best. Also some type of ready up box is needed. Give players 15-20 seconds to confirm the match, if not everyone does. All the players, except the ones that didn’t confirm get thrown back into que, and the process starts over.
