I hate quitters!
Quit Client for 1 min, then launch it and queue for new match.
Why should people sit couple of minutes in a match that is already lost and developers refuse to add ability to vote for forfeiting matches?
Don’t wait for the devs. Just get a team.
While there are a million ways ArenaNet could improve the PvP system, as of right now, they obviously have no intention to do so. Therefore, we’re stuck with a majority of players who only care about the rewards at the end of a match. This causes an extremely high amount of sabotage in matches where teammates don’t know each other. There’s no other way around it, you need a party of 5 before you enter the queue.
Sometimes bad things happen. Not everyone is a spineless jerk, which is a pretty easy trap to fall into, but DCs and so on really do happen…
I mean for instance, earlier today I was playing a game, we were up by 50 pts and bam, blue screen-o-death and I realize my pc has some issues all of the sudden. They probably lost that game, but i couldn’t get back on before the match ended because my PC was acting funny. Working on getting a new PC now (because frankly, I’ve been ready, this was the last straw for me), but regardless. I felt bad, couldn’t even apologize and I’m sure 9 other people thought I rage quit for whatever reason. I’m sure this happens fairly frequently too. kitten happens.

One quitter ruins the game for nine other people. I wish the penalties were a lot stricter.

Yes maybe their accounts should be terminated and grouch will personally come and slap them on their silly quitter faces!
All this is going to do is screw over people who end up having legit problems. It’d be easier or… at least better… If people could calm down a bit. A few actual solutions would be:
1. Worry about the long run, not short term bans/penalties. Perhaps decreased priority in ques the more offends you have. And gradual and increased time-out penalties that are completely based around how frequently someone leaves over time, not in a given moment.
2. Introduce a system to allow players to join matches with a missing player (for non-rated games. If you’re having issues in rated, get a team…) All it has to be is a checkmarked box and the incentive being a middle ground reward for losses and full reward for wins. Bam, everything becomes at least a little less frustrating. (Guaranteed)
Hell, in WoW half the time you don’t even realize someone disappeared and its filled and you go about your time. Also, allow people to leave matches without DCing so it can be filled immediately.

It seems i need to make my statement clearer here.
I don’t hate the person that was gone. I myself sometimes suffer a dc, or sudden rl situation that cannot wait. What i hated was the other 3 people in my team just rolling over and throwing in the towel without any will to fight for it.
