Hey guys
I think I need help
Before I start my Epic story, I know I’m just a average player, but this weekend thing kinda got out of hand.
I started this league playing Guardian/DH and Warrior. After realising Warrior is really kitten up I stayed with Guardian/DH and been doing well.
This past week I got to Sapphire and was really happy. 1st Tier no problem, 2nd same, but now I’m on hte 3rd and things are not well. I’ve done problably 40 games since Friday night and I’m still with 0 pips on the 3rd Tier! Maximum I’ve got was 3. I just don’t know what is happening. I noticed some really bad teams, I also got played bad in some games but nothing major.

My dilema now is do I stick with Guardian or just give up and start playing the Ranger or Mesmers that everyone loves now. I really don’t want because are classes that I usually get bored pretty fast. The 3 classes that I played the most allways are literely the ones in the worst positions (Warrior, Thief and Guardian that is in a average place, but I’m starting to get a lot of ppl that know how to counter me, like I expected)

Maybe I’m not as skillful as I thought and should leave PvP?
What do you guys think I should do?

If you’re playing solo, you have to play when everyone isn’t grouping (i.e., during the week). Weekends are basically all 5-person premades in the higher brackets.

Mainly solo, I don’t knwo personally ppl that play these game, and most of my guild mates are PvErs (national guilds meh)
Play PvP for a while, found some friends a long the way but the brakes I did made me lost contact of most of them

It’s not really true that getting a team will help you win games at all. My win percentage in leagues so far is higher when I’m duoing or solo qing than playing with 4 or 5.

As for ranking up in leagues, I’m not sure why the entire community has decided that they deserve to keep progressing regardless of skill level. To me it seems like everyone should reach a plateau at some point. I’m not saying you are bad, but there is a possibility that the current system has decided to weigh your league ranking in a way that you are now being put against higher skill players and thus need to adapt or improve. There’s also the possibility that you’ve just had a really unlucky string of games, and you’ll continue advancing normally if you stick with it.

if you are running a premade you have to be good to win. if you are running solo vs other solos anything can happen.

I agree, and I never aimed for Legendary, and if this continues maybe I get lucky and get to Ruby, but most likely will not go more than that, specially since at ruby you can lose tier too (if that was the case on Sapphire, this weekend I would have gotten to 0 pips on tier 1)

The problem cannot be on the classes only, I’ve seen Thiefs on Diamond. Maybe I’m not as skilled as I thought or was just bad luck. Let’s see how this week goes I guess

Scrapper I haven’t tried, but I sure will, Engi is the class I have closest to get the title of all the others (yet is pretty, far, but from the ones I usually don’t play I have 37 wins in rankeds so..), maybe this is a good time to go for it
