I give props to the balance team. They chose to help damage Instead of nerf sustainability and it is working quite well.

I have but one thing that would complete balance in my opinion. My last priority fix, which is all I feel is needed now, is a fix to spamming. I have actively watched the evade icon appear after dodging with a thief nine times sometimes getting hit between dodges due to low ping. This isn’t random dodges. This is seeing evade meaning I dodged them. Currently, there is no reward or actively dodging and 2-3 second blocks have filled dodges defensive roles.

But again the changes are perfect as every class is killable due to the power creep. Until a broken meta comes out I say keep the game how it is or add more traits or more pvp variety in general.

I know some will be offended at my statements, but we will just have to see more comments as people get a feel for this patch.

Actually its not as bad as I suspected. I still believe mesmers, revs and eles need a nerf, and I still believe the gamedesign of spam, healing and autoprocs is unhealthy…
But as of now the patch is playable. A lot of people are just trying to figure the meta out and play experimental stuff, thats a big part of why its fun.
But all in all the patch seems to be ok.
If they shave down the three beforementioned just a little the next season should be alright.
They can still work on the underlying problems as soon as inter-class balance is achieved and stable.
Yet. If some crazy new meta build pops up in the next weeks, I hope they wont just let them run rampage as they did last time. Mid season balance patches are OK, as long as they are fixing immediate, outstanding issues that shouldnt be ignored.

No MMO, during any month of any year has ever seen a situation where the official forum was not littered with nerf threads. There is no perfect balance because in most people’s mind a game is considered perfectly balanced when the odds are strongly in their favour
