I occasionally play PvP, and today was no different. (r26, 920th place on teamQ leaderboard)

I joined solo Q, match started and gw2 disconnects for me.
This has not really ever happened before for me, I work alot on the PC and have an active alternate internet connection in place in case something like this happens given I’m on alot of conference calls with clients etc.

Eitherway, the backup gets running and I reconnect to guild wars, one minute has past and score is like 80-10 or something for the other team.

Some guys on my team start typing in /team its loose guys lets just give up and go afk, and 2 actually end up doing this, whilst berating those of us who don’t.
Like it’s the most normal thing in the world to just go afk if you are not winning so that you lose faster and can continue farming rank, I find this pretty despicable and definitely would like to report these players.

I really want to report these guys, not only were they very insulting towards me after I returned (which I get to some extent but still using my pc so often for my work and with the precautions I have in place I find it hard to say that I deserved this or did anything wrong, I also have the best internet connection in my country, so it’s not like I am playing from my mobile phone internet in the jungle or something) They also boycotted the entire rest of the match while I dont feel like 80-10 means its lost at all!!

You can help yourself by understanding that the entire PvP community is sick to death of 4v5’s and what you experienced was nothing more than vented frustration. It’s not the 80-10 score, it’s the fact that someone was missing from the scoreboard with no indication of whether they’ll come back (most of the time they don’t).

If you want to report someone for what happened, report ArenaNet.

I’ve been told to report them using “LFG Abuse” which seems about right to me. If they were verbally abusive, you can use that.

I just was in a team queue match where someone complained about the other team and quit in the middle, and I reported that individual. Everyone needs to pitch in, in order to purge the selfish players from this activity.

Dont report using LFG abuse. You report afker by using botting,

I think he was the one who had the disconnect so he certainly won’t report anyone else for being afk.
I am one of those players who usually go afk if a 4v5 game is going as expected – utter and complete defeat. I’d rather get it over with real fast and continue on to the next game than stay and fight a battle I can’t win.

Why would you report them? Players eventually get fed up with afkers and leavers when you d/c the other players on your team have to usually play twice as hard. If you played match after match with afkers and leavers I’m sure you would be frustrated too. In 1 minute a lot can change especially when you’re down a player eventually the team gets demoralized and just wants to be done with it

I don’t blame them at all for afking the match. When roughly 35% of my games are 4v5 it gets really really frustrating and tiring to deal with it. I don’t want to try to fight an uphill battle because one of my teammates wasn’t there for the first 20% of the game. If I was spectating that match the only person I’d report is the person who joined late and screwed their team over royally as a result.

Why would you report them?

For the same reason as anyone else should be reported for ruining matches.

Sometimes people do D/C and then reconnect a short time later. And then the match is lost anyway because someone decided to AFK because he was too cowardly or lazy to try his best despite the odds.

I always continue to fight. If for no other reason than to sharpen my skills at playing outnumbered, and give the other time something to do. It’s not their fault someone quit either.

Worst is when 4 of the players go afk because they can’t win
And one person still tries to have some fights or w/e and the entire enemy team zergs on him … well, 4 of the 5 cause I’m the fifth person and just feel sorry for that 1 honourable player
