I’ve seen a lot of post regarding newbies to enter ranked matches, them having to achieve rank 20/30+ etc before playing.

I think it’s better to say a small IQ test with a pass rate of 80% should be sufficient.

problem is, IQ tests dont verify healthy social abilities

+1 to this good idea;).

80% of what? the test is marked out of correct answers and the time taken on each one as I recall, so percentage of correct answers is only part of the scoring system.

Its also mostly logic and spatial skills, nothing to do with tactics and strategy. (or reflexes for that matter)

I think the point is that a person with good social skills would handle bad team mates by helping them or just ignoring and chalking up a loss and being done with it. The bad social skills are going to rage and cry and blame others. The SPvP community, as in all games with “hardcore” PvP content, always is the worst community. It has the most ragers, the most elitists, and often times, it fosters unwarranted words and feelings.

SPvP is the most imbalanced and kitten game type and always has been, that is why people get so flustered about it. Some classes/builds are good, others aren’t. Class/build A will always do better than Class/build B on some maps or in some game modes, and since there are limited maps and only 1 game mode, that fosters imbalance even more. That is why this game failed miserably at being an esport. Keep that in mind whenever someone rages.

D) You get 1 more player for faster cap. Having 2 players on a cap is good strategy, just imagine having 3 players, 3 is always better than 1. Having lived thrice is great.

True story here, choice was C. I was Mesmer beating up a Warrior and Necro (later found out War was rank 12 and Necro was 34, added them to group- AP under 2000 for both) and a Staff Elementalist just stood there. Watched. Let me heal up. Then proceeded to say lets duel. I killed it, ran off to mid.

You see an enemy player downed in , that is about <5% in downed state, an enemy comes in order to ressurect.
What do you do?
A) just do cleaving him so hes dead before the enemy reaches him
B) Try several times to get your finisher trough and being interrupted doing so, but hey everyone just HAS to see your finishing move
