Idea For Ele Conjured Weapons
http://www.Twitch.tv/BringYourFriends
The way conjures work is fine, it’s the skills.
Firey great sword is pretty cool but the rest of them are very hit and miss because the skills are shoddy and have redonculus recharge times which don’t even make sense for the trait.
they are actually strong only in theory. For example when you see conjure earth you say:
omg a 3 sec invuln like mist only you are static.
omg a aoe pull
omg a fast 2 sec daze,
omg an aoe cripple and then you try it and realise
the 3 sec invuln is not instant(cant use when you are cced)
the pull takes so much time to activate and just brings everyone close to you for more beating with almost no downtime for them
the daze feels cluncky
the cripple tends to miss but even when its hits the cripple is gone before the whole rock does its cycle
and then the autoattack hits for so low that for the whole time you have the conjure you do damage thats like nullified by regen on melee range :O (exaggeration)
Plus to get this awsome skillset of awsomness you need to spend almost 1 sec casting it..They just need to be instant imo and have some skills reworked.
If they are too powerfull then NERF THEIR SKILLS..
But they need to be instant
In my opinion, conjures should work more like kits (instant cast simulating weapon swapping, no duration and no skills charges), but with the drawback of having a large cooldown (like 60s cooldown AFTER the weapon is dropped). This would streamline conjures a lot, but they would still have the important drawback of taking away a lot of ele’s precious weapon skills. Then, they could make conjure shield break stun as well, simply because it makes sense for it.
Simple, and it would also have the plus of making casuals love them a lot more.

For conjures to work the skills need lower cooldown times.
Presumably because each skill use takes down your conjure resource, conjure weapons are similar to a thief’s initiative…in a way.
However because the CD’s are so high the conjure resource goes completely wasted because even if you do choose to slot a conjure skill after blowing through your 4 and 5 you’ll probably drop the weapon so you can actually have some usable skills.
This isn’t the same for FGS because the cooldowns on it’s skills are 15s at best, they are low and so using up the resource can be worthwhile. It’s the only conjure the Conjurer trait makes sense for unless you are in love with auto-attacking.
Even if the conjures CD themselves were raised to something like 90s like Banners, if the skills they gave were low CD and relatively powerful they’d be worth investing in for similar reason that FGS is (other than Tornado flopping).
Not withstanding that Deep freeze takes 40s to cast and then 40s for the projectile to hit someone, of which it will probably miss.

The hammer is very useful as well. Not so much for its 2-5 skills (they are more situationally useful), but the basic attack is a 3 chain combo with the final being both a blast finisher and a blind. It makes dealing with most non-dredge fractal mobs trivial because most of them don’t hit fast enough to get more than a single hit in between blind applications. Plus it deals a crapload of damage when traited and geared correctly.
edit: realised this was in pvp section not ele where it belongs. You can make the hammer work in pvp, but it’s a lot squishier than other ele builds and only deals marginally more damage than a glass D/D, but less bursty.
