What if Diamond skin was changed to make protection work on condition damage as well as direct damage in the same way that the rev trait versed in stone augments rite of the great dwarf?

It would even stack with hardy conduit, so if you ran tempest you’d have -40% damage from conditions, and because tempest has infinite protection, you’d easily have 100% uptime.

I don’t think some weird pulsing resistance system is a good idea for a rework, its better to simply take this passive, odd, aged, trait, and remove the threshold to make it useful in every situation but not overpowered or completely useless in certain matchups as it is now.

Your suggestion sounds better than what it is right now. My favorite trait in earth line is elemental shielding.

Problem with ds is that it’s really only effective against pure condi classes. If your opponents aren’t completely brainless, they would assist the necro/condi class to break the ds threshold.

In team fights, people still target the necro but I think the scepter/focus shout auramancer is a little easier to take down after breaking ds. Their mobility sucks and wont waste your CDs like chronobunkers did.

Make condition damage work on protection and make retal effectiveness by 50%, gain retal when you get struck by a critical 10 sec icd.

That would be cool too. Some other proccy thing would help sell it as a trait compared to stone heart.

What if DS didn’t prevent vuln. Would that be enough to level it out in peoples opinion? What about if vuln let a % of condi damage go through aka 25 stacks = 25%.

I don’t think this would work due to the amount of condi clear tempest has.

They do have a lot of clears, but this would at least add play/counter play..

I want to see this trait toned down but I don’t want to see it broken, so this was the best I could think of so far.

Ele’s need a basic rework. They have been key figures in multiple metas by now which all come down to the massiv boonspam and their ability to sustain without caring about their suroundings. DS is only the most recent emerging offender.

Diamond Skill has an effect that is way too much ‘all or nothing’. If you improve anything on it or use a build that makes the most of it, it becomes too much. Nerf it, and it becomes useless.

Progressive effects are better.

For example, instead immunity to conditions when HP>90%, it could make conditions last less based on your remaining health. 100% HP? Full duration. 50% HP? 50% duration. 25% HP? 25% duration. 0% HP (that is, when downed) 0% duration. You become immune to conditions altogether when downed, so they can’t slow you or immobilize you, for example.

SUGGEST-A-TRON says:
PAY—ONCE—UNLOCKS—ARE—ALWAYS—BETTER.
No exceptions!

This so much.

I don’t think I can even remember a time when I did enjoy fighting ele. This always felt like a kittening chore and made me quit the game multiple times because of how annoying it is to feel like whatever you’re trying to do the ele just doesn’t give a kitten and sustain back.
Right now it’s because of diamond skin making them freewin vs a condi build, before that it was the stupid sustain coupled with D/D mobility etc etc.

This class is just pure aids and always has been.
