Idea for "Stomps underwater"
I am thrilled for the underwater-stomping!
I dont even care how they are implemented, but not having to follow someone for minutes will be great.

What could also be done is, make the downed player move more slowly, to be easier to finish, and possibly immobilized whilst being finished.
And/or, players who go into downed state, have their mask knocked off and start drowning. They have a few seconds to either assist with a kill or rise to the surface before they drown.
How about Pull the Player down and keep him underwater for Drowning Purposes.. Giggle

first they need to be able to fix horizontal movement while you are downed underwater, only allow vertical. Then they need to bring in some sort of move like you suggested, strangle move or tying a magical cinder block to their feet so they can’t get to the surface. like rallad said when you are downed underwater your rebreather is removed and the finisher is to hold someone underwater to drown.
Immobilize while being finished but give abilities just like on land to avoid 1 stomp.
Either that or make it able to move while stomping under water.
Ripping breather off is good animation.

A simple punch in the face to knock them out so they drown while unconscious. With the right animation, I’d be camping out at Ruins more often.

I don’t know man I think this would destroy underwater combat, and we don’t like it already.
stomping underwater already works..
If you can pull a test dummy to the water.. (e.g. let it kill you and it resets its leash range)
after you have placed the test dummy in the water let him kill you again and you will see the game can handle underwater stomping and all that would need to be added is the new animation. try it as the current animation the dummies use is very funny it’s like a chest trust have fun

I support this, right now rangers are just invincible underwater. Even when CCing the pet, poisonong the ranger and all that. But isnt the water breather already knocked off when youre drowning?
Maybe make it: when you take damage the bleeding out goes much faster, and the only way to counter it is by going to the surface?
Or make CCs last longer on drowning players, and enable finishing while theyre CCed? Right now they could just swim away when youd finish them.
We can already finish people underwater, but they have to be on the ground… The animation looks really silly atm.

Same as Land Stomping. Thanks for posting though. But I think they state that in SOTG that they don’t want Water Stomping is the same animation as on land because they want Drowned Player move around, not stand still and get sticked by a pole which is true. I find it funny that sometimes, we dont carry a pole and yet we use the pole as our finisher. Where is the pole com from? “O-Mighty Sky and Earth, Mark my Victory with your Judgment Pole on my Enemy Corspe”…LOL…

What about taking the rank animals, and make them hit the player as a stomp? For instance, if your rank symbol was currently a shark, you’d get something like this:

Stomping underwater will definitely need immobs and sinks in order to get to the target and then rip their masks off but I think there’s enough pulls and immobs underwater that it would work out. ’Cos on land you still need blinds and other things to finish off the stomp.

The stomp animation should be an anchor with the words “SUNK” appearing above the finished persons head.With a range greater than the normal on ground stomp.
If throwing a flag through someones body works, than gluing an anchor on their kitten does too.
