If top 25 had to begin SoloQ today...
Silentshoes (Thief), Wind of the Woods (condi ranger)
no
symbolic did it – he startet from 0 with his NA account and streamed it
11-0 and is now top1
We know about sync problems but people need to accept there are players better than others, and some are really strong.
Romek, How many days ago did he do that?
He sure could not have done it with the teams I got.

I just started soloqueue yesterday and i am now 7:0, let’s see how it will be going the next few days
never blinking “specialist”,
Just wondering what class did they play to do this necro or engi?
Masters in Geek Mythology

and survey says… Necro
not only – he played warrior too
First game the team carried him, I see. His team was doing well; but he was just dying a lot, and was last in score at end of first match. He even laughed “worst game ever”.
Just saying. My teams are MUCH weaker than his team on that one.
I will watch the rest.

I think I played 6/7 warrior games, 3/4 necro and 1 spirit ranger game, this was last night.
I think I played 6/7 warrior games, 3/4 necro and 1 spirit ranger game, this was last night.
so in 12 matches the game more or less forced your mind to go from :
warrior => to necro => to spirit ranger
strong now => OP now => just plain laughable now
:D would not say this is a good sign for the game when experienced players more or less force themselves to play the " op " character type’s.
I play different professions for different maps that I find optimal.
^ As it should. If you want to win you have to adapt to the map you’re playing and the team comp you get.
Bring back: ‘Gamer’ title + MAT’s!

Which really shouldn’t be allowed, even in team queue (I said this a long time ago as well). Once you load a game you should be locked into it on that character, no switching to what works best on that map or what works best against the other team. This just forces everyone into doing it for the obvious advantages.
^ As it should. If you want to win you have to adapt to the map you’re playing and the team comp you get.
Except, you shouldn’t have to adapt by switching to different classes, you should learn how to do it with the class you initially chose before knowing the map and other team comp.
I’m just about sick of having to spell this kind of stuff out to people in this game.

So… If you see you’re 5 thieves in the group you shouldn’t be allowed to swap characters nor swap your build? So it’s basicly a gg for the opposing team unless they have 5 thiefs too.
Anyway, I was talking about the game in its current state. Either you adapt, or lose.

Yeah but still those picks are between Necro, Spirit ranger and War :p

bad than he would play 5 from 8 classes – how can he
So you’re just pointing the fact that currently the game has a kittening dumb meta with unskilled prof/builds :p
I have no problem with Symbolic I was just trollin’.

It’s really not. I have a friend with an almost identical build to mine who plays pretty much the same as me. He doesn’t switch classes based on maps or other teams comps and is currently in the top 30 playing warrior. Here is the thing, starting from the neutral MMR position if you get a bunch of lucky wins early, it shoots you up the boards and then you get grouped with good players and don’t have to worry about it as much (I believe he went 10-1 on day one). If you get a bunch of loses early it has the opposite effect.

Would you like me to test this on an alt account? I am 100% sure that I could carry. I don’t carry through skill but through communication.
Am I good?… I’m good.
Eurantien, I would love to watch your experiment. Would be wonderful if you could record it.

Lol
Like PUGS listen to you..you tell them not go mid ..and they go..help close and nobody comes…you’re just extremely lucky man…be glad
Eurantien, I would love to watch your experiment.
I have to do 2 things first. Remember my own password… and get my friend to let me use his account. I’ll let you know how it goes.

You seem to be implying we don’t communicate with them Eurantien. You would be wrong. Occasionally you get a team that listens, generally they just do what they want to do.
Honestly somebody has to get trapped at the lower ranks. Better random people on the forums who think it’s impossible to carry than people like Symbolic or Eurantien or me who know it’s possible to carry.
I got 28 kills on skyhammer last time I played it and was constantly calling out point name and how many people need to go there. To say I carried that game would be the understatement of a century.

So? I do the same thing. Point is, you have to admit that many games are so bad you can’t carry if you are grouped with bad players that just won’t listen. You also have to admit a lot of people on top only got there because of lucky streaks that shot them up to be grouped with better players. I mean, I had a higher win rate doing solo queue in tPvP where I often faced premades. How do you explain that?
And this game now became pay to win, since ppl who buy gems can buy more character slots and have more chances to swap character to perfect type for that map/team/or enemies. Thats why they need to lock character when you enter.

Rofl…
i feel like the guys who have 11-1 and 17-3 and stuff like that should be moved down over time due to inactivity. i’m keeping a 2:1 ratio with my 40 wins and 20 losses.. and can’t seem to move up even when i get higher than my 2:1 ratio.. sucks. lol IGN:Cryptographic
Communicating in solo queue is not sufficient to carry. You also have to make calls that are actually GOOD calls.
Good players in solo queue will know what calls to make, and also which ones to ignore.
Once I had a guy tell me in a match “Mansion lost – don’t go there” when our guard was 1v2 on the point after this guy had got stomped. Well I knew that was a bad call seeing as mansion was our close and we had possession of it, so I went there anyway and won the 2v2 with the guards help. Later in the match he was like “lol don’t listen to me” and I said “I know.”

I think this is the problem a lot of people have. They make bad calls and then complain that no one is following their lead. I am actually surprised that players who make good calls can get that type to listen, since they clearly wouldn’t recognise a good call if it sat up and slapped them.
Yeah, that’s it. I make bad calls.
/rolls eyes
You kids with your superiority complex will never cease to amaze. lol
Whatever, done with talking to you people.
Also, you are wrong. A lot of times they are not drawn from the same pool. The matchmaker seems to throw a team of near the same MMR together, then throws another team together. If there aren’t a ton of people playing, that second team ends up being a much lower MMR team generally. What it needs to do is grab 10 players of similar MMR then distribute them out amongst the teams.
I wish someone would take some time and test this popular assumption. As I posted in another thread:
“In the name of science someone should record the results of some matches based on screenshots of the leaderboards and screenshots of the players in their matches. You should be able to determine the rank of each person in the match.
Imagine a scenario where 10 people queue with leaderboard ranks ranging from #1 to #100, one person every 10 ranks. Would the match look like this:
#1, #10, #20, #30, #40, #50 vs. #60, #70, #80, #90, #100
OR
#1, #20, #40, #80, #100 vs. #10, #30, #50, #70, #90
Obviously the second scenario should end up in a closer match. I would be surprised if Anet designed their system to intentionally make it so “winners win” by keeping them with other winners.
Either way, someone should be able to figure this out with some time and a lot of hourly screenshots of leaderboards and scoreboards from each game."

I think: the matching algorithm is forming the highest rated team, and then trying to find a “next-highest rated team” to play against the top team. This is to give the players on the lower-MMR team a chance to win and “move up”.
But the problem is, the second team is a LOT lower. The pool is too small, and the top team ends up playing a collection of 300s and below, sinking them a bit further down.
I bet sometimes the top people do end up playing each other. But because their MMRs are almost identical, nobody moves much.
And even if they do lose, they play another couple unbalanced matches against low-MMR teams, and make it right back up.

like you can carry 4 kittens
Yes, part of it has to due to luck, and yes, you can only do so much for your team. I remember a game where a teammate constantly died trying to solo the lord (I wasn’t looking for it, and despite him not calling it, it’s possible for me to see that he’s doing that and help securing the kill). On top of this there’s a lot of decision making that can win or lose the game, for example backcapping, getting backcapped, over-rotating, etc.
But I don’t think it’s fair to call people elitists just because they can go 11-1 in solo queue and you think it’s impossible because you can’t. For one thing, the game is more about the overall strategy and decision making rather than your individual play. Winning 1v1s doesn’t mean you’re carrying your team.
But now they’re hating cause a brotha finally got some buzz

I didn’t get to go into solo que until today.
The first four matches were 4v5.
There isn;t anything really saying that they wouldn’t of rised. The reality is part of solo que is just luck. Team comp, no leavers, hope for the best.
But there is no reason to think maybe “well if they started now they’d be kittened” They have to be doing something right (assuming they continually play) as they’ll eventually if not already run into bull kitten.

Except, that isn’t how the leaderboard and matchmaking seems to work. You should really research a bit before you make a post with assumptions like that.
I find it quite astonishing how unacceptable the idea that someone might be playing better than YOU is for some people. It really hurts them. A lot.
How many more soloque QQ threads are children going to make on this forum? Some of them are even so mad, they can’t climb that ladder, they just want to delete the ladder altogether!! Seems like that in case they don’t like the ladder, the simple solution of ignoring it doesn’t work for some people… Huh?
11-0 or whatever-0 score is possible to make. I have even made 6-0 with my Engi and I’m no Pro player. There’s fact 1.
And I have this seriously wild suggestion for you – Forget about the ladder and enjoy the game. How about that? Insane idea, I know, but it works for me. I find this SoloQue 1 billion times more enjoyable than what we had before… You know, playing against premades and such?
And I’ve got this feeling if you guys just took it little easier and chill out a bit, use your superpowers to convince yourself, that this ladder is not the point of your life… you might enjoy soloque too!
HEHEY!
I only have time for 2 to 3 matches a day currently due to work/WvW taking up the majority of my time, but I have only have 1 game of 4(us)v5(them) and that was actually a surprisingly good game.
Every other game has been 5v5 and competitive, of course to me 500-400 is still a good game. So my opinion may not matter at all.
Certainly better than what it used to be:
- Queue up, lose to premade 500-100.
- Queue up, random people close match.
- Queue up, lose to premade.
- Etc…
