What is imbalanced mode?
It is an Custom arena that the host can configure profession skills freely. It can configure,
- Healing of a skill
- Base Damage of a skill
- Base condi damage of a skill
- Passive bonus of a skill
- Base Boon and condi duration of a skill.
- Cooldown of a skill
- Cast time (except auto attack) of a skill
- Range for projectiles
- Range radius for AoE
- Allow players to use utility skill outside their profession: Warriors with Minions. Rangers with kits etc etc. This allows players to play with skills outside of their profession functionality example: Necro gets stability through balance stance.
Why?
- It allows the host to disallow skills. If the host hates warriors a lot, he will give healing signet 0 hp per second and Earthshaker a 0 second stun.
- Allows for interesting and new tournaments that isn’t the same build all over again. Host can create a second codex arena by disallowing skills or allowing skills.
- Most importantly, it allows the players to test the balance of the game. Developers can host their own Imbalanced custom arenas to measure how much a skill needs to shave. Since ANet is all about shaving, imbalanced mode will be a great way to achieve balance.
