The best part about this change is that the PvP community has come flooding back. Queue times have reduced dramatically, matches are now balanced, and MMR Hell has been abolished.
10/10 for changes like this.

nice i hope soon we can get some orichalcum nodes in pvp lobby or on pvp maps
sorry, but if it is not crafting stations in the pvp lobby and or queuing in pve its not good enough.
PS: if wvw has nodes why doesn’t pvp has them?
revised:
make nodes available after matches, where when the match says your team win/loose you get to harvest nodes. Game thus has to switch everyone to neutral so ending the irritating Gung-Ho revengeful type players who created the “i have never killed you without my team mate rage spree of trying to end you when the match is over” situation.

No, all minerals could span – far away from any point – now imagine how well your team will play if you don’t have a remade 4-5 man group

You can only gather if your team controls the point.
Your team earns 10 points per node fully gathered.
New amulet.
Gatherer’s.
20 Vitality
+10% Gathering speed
20 Healing Power
+15% Gathering Speed
20 Ferocity -Whenever you fully gather a node you call down an air strike for 10 sec.
Damage (10x)30.000 ,Burn(10 sec),Bleed(12sec),Chill(10sec),Poison(30 sec)
Radius 3000
100 Condition Damage 15% Gathering Speed

They should add an area where we can challenge each other to 1 v 1s in the PVP lobby.

The mode has continuing major issues and is losing players to a competitor so yeah fixes are needed.

People are more commenting on the absurdity of ANet being mum about the horrible matchmaking and still subpar balance (though its gotten much better) yet still releasing an update for PvP that addresses exactly none of the problems with the game mode. Its more of a “Why did we even get this?”

I always thought we could equip gathering tools in the lobby anyway. Didn’t really care to check. I just want to see a major update that addresses connection issues and I know I’m not the only one who has them there’s even a big merged thread on the topic.
I must give ANET a lot of credit. I’ve said that the matchmaking is absolutely horrible. It is great to see that ANET listened to everyone’s feedback. The matchmaking team implemented all their best ideas during this patch.
