Out of curiosity, am I the only one experiencing this ?

Trying to escape + heal, I get immobilize nuked and all my actions get interrupted and not only that I try mashing the heal or whatever I’m trying to accomplish and it seems to delay and refuse to actually work.

Shouldn’t immobilize just… immobilize you and allow you to finish whatever skills you were doing in that spot ? I’m confused and it isn’t the first time this happened. It’s a regular occurrence in this condition filled meta.

what class did the immobilize?

If it was a Mesmer, he could have been running a troll interrupt build that immobilizes you every time he rupts you.

Wow….. WHY ? Why are immobilizes interrupts ?
This actually blows my mind right now.

@ google, legit anything really. Engies/necros/guards/Warriors, basically every class has an immobilize and the second you try to run away you get nuked with them. Immobilize should NOT interrupt your action, this makes it incredibly stronger than it has to be. ( considering it stacks now )

I haven’t played in a few days. but i can assure you it has never interrupted before(unless they added it on hot fix on the past 4 days).

I’m sure when it says stop any current animation they refer to movement animations ( walking/running/jumping) but not skill animations

I think i know whats happening tho. do you jump a lot? (space bar). if you do. that might be the problem.

if you get immobilized in mid air, your skills will “bug” out because you can’t use skills on mid air. u can avoid t his by limiting ur jumps

To me, animation also means “heal animation”/“Skill animation”, an animation is an animation after all ( it isn’t very specific. )

I don’t jump a lot, and I can see how it would bug out doing that.
I just find it really weird mashing my heal with nothing happening except loads of conditions and immobilizes stacking on.

Yeah…I didn’t know this either. I always thought my character acted funny when I get immob but I just considered it “lag” since you do not see the interrupt message.

So, to be clear, the full potential of immobilize are:

-root target in place for X duration
-interrupt current action
-bypass stability

Can someone from Anet confirm this? Thanks.

Erm, immobs don’t interrupt you. They interrupt movement, but I’ve casted heals through being immobed. They can however keep you facing a direction and if the enemy slips behind you while immobilized, yes it will misfire..

They don’t interrupt you but, at least in my case, they generate skill lag. Whenever I get immobed, i’m usually forced to hit my next skill at least twice in a row. As a thief, this can be rather detrimental since i need to manage initative.

Yes, blowing 2-3 skills that queue up wiping out your initiative is beyond frustrating.

I wonder if it’s related to the fact that you can immobilize someone right before they dodge, they dodge anyway, and then are in the new position immobilized. Whatever causes that issue could be also causing a skill lockout issue.

i think it’s due to the fact that im always moving. when i get immobed, it’s almost like the game gets confused as to where my actual location is. it sounds silly, and it probably is, but it’s not because they catch me right before i dodge roll.

i think its most likely the jumping and immob bug, it keeps you in a state of falling where you cant use skills
