So what do you guys think from a pvp standpoint?
So far this is what I think:
Dragonhunter
-Kind of weak. None of the active virtues are too impactful, and it has terrible synergy with renewed focus
-Longbow #2 should not require you to stand still. I would even argue this for longbow #5
Reaper
-Feels good, but lacks sustain and life force generation.
-Some skill are still too slow for the amount of damage they deliver. Good skills include deathshroud 4 and 5.
Chronomancer
-Just broken. So broken.
Tempest
-Havent tested too much
Revenant
-Really like hammer on dps so far, but sword is underwhelming aside for the #3 skill. Feels awkward as the shadowstep is not instant, but has a cast time.
how broken is chrono ?
pu chrono is quite crazy… the cooldown reduction from alacrity on stealth skills and blurred frenzy brings the cancer to a whole new level.
knockback dragonhunter can be annoying but imo is no real threat
tempest is a downgrade from d/d if you’re not intending to go full support
reaper is awesome and pretty balanced, some QoL and it will be a wonderful spec
any trait calcs updated with this stuff?
I got killed by a reaper at full health from range in about 3 seconds multiple times. Don’t know how they did it. Other reapers have been eh so so that I played. However, this one must have had something going.

Did you read the combat log?
They have to be very careful with Mesmer. Mesmer is already stacked by design, they CANNOT give it “high-skill cap” that has no counterplay.
Naaa, should have but too busy with tryin to win the match. Main point was that I think it may have potential, but many do not know how to trait. It was a reaper, but they weren’t using a great sword. Same with other classes. Still too early to know for sure. However, that doesn’t mean we can’t talk about what we already know.
Tempest, a direct downgrade from d/d as someone else said, unless you want to be some gimicky boon dispenser. Overloads are trash, the reasons were already given. Shouts are meh, they offer very little selfsurvivability, eles have to go for selfsurvival or they stay in downstate 90% of the time.
Dragonhunter feels balanced and fun. Spear of Justice needs its castime significantly reduced. Traps are mostly unseable, you can’t discard Monk’s Focus sustain from Meditations at all.
Chronomancer. In spite of some potential criticizm towards me, I’ll put it bluntly, this spec makes Mesmers stupidly, absurdly and brokenly overpowered, even more than current mesmer, there. The new F5 allows for multiple shatters and kittened combos that shouldn’t ever be possible. Things like Chronophantasma, Time Marches On, Illusionary Reversion, Lost Time, etc. and the new F5 are just blatant improvements over other Mesmer specs. Slow is a stupid strong codition, and these have plenty of it. Imagine an OP profession, and add some more OP on top of it, that’s the chronomancer.
Reaper needs help, specially with the greatsword. Some atacks are slow and not impactful enough. I differ from other necros, I think the LF generation is just fine, other specs/weapons generate a little too much of it. Shouts could have some use.
Revenant still feels incredibly weak and squishy. Sword 3 should evade. Shiro’s healing skill is terrible. They also need ooc mobility.
Dragonhunter- eww
Revenant- meh
Reaper- hmm.. it’s ight
Tempest- Feels just like d/d
Chronomancer- Faceroll goodness, I bad at mesmer and now I’m Espurts!
