Improve Stronghold for Viewers
Many NPC’s are green in spectator mode.
It is difficult to make out which NPC belongs to which team.
Maybe NPC’s should have the color of their team?
While many threads have focused on improving stronghold gameplay/balance to make it more fun, the recent beta tourneys have given a chance for viewers to watch games in a tourney environment. While watching these games, a few suggestions that can improve the viewer experience have occurred to me:
1. The mini-map is very small, and it is hard to really follow the macro-level flow of the game without being able to more clearly see the map develop. Allow the map to be a little bigger, probably by changing the aspect ratio a bit.
2. It is hard to keep track of who has supply and see the development of team pushes from just the UI. It would help to have some kind of indication for both teams on the player UI to see who has supply. This could also increase drama as you see a necro jumping into battle with 2 supply that he might give up to the enemies for free.
3. It is impossible to see the timer on hero-spawns while spectating. There is the event timer for players, but that is not visible to viewers. Perhaps the map icon could be changed (to a ticking clock or something) to make it more apparent for both viewers and players how much time until the hero spawns from watching the map.
If you have any suggestions that can improve the game-mode from for viewers to be more clear and entertaining, please include them in this thread. This is especially true because being entertaining to watch is crucial for the game-mode to see great growth.
