Instead of nerfing...
it needs to get to a point where its not just 1 build per class is the problem its fine for a spec to be strong just have another class /spec that counters it .
diversity is key, just like certain LoL chars can counter other chars easy

Exactly. And this is as much done by buffing as it is by nerfing. We have aloooot of underperforming skills across the various classes. Not underperforming in the meta, but underperforming, period.
At least some of them need to be brought in line.
First they would have to bugfix ALL the bugs. There really are countless bugs left. Half of ele traits don’t do what they say they do, same for some other classes. As long as 30% of a class traits and skills are bugged you can’t really balance the classes.
Also every single utility needs to be viable. As it is right now every class has maybe 4-8 (if generous) utilities that are viable, the rest are utter bullcrap.

So we help by suggesting ways to buff said utilities. Which was the point of this thread.
Personally, I’d like to see warrior Kick have a lower cooldown. It eats a utility slot, barely lasts any time at all as a CC, does almost no damag,e and has a tiny range. A cooldown of say, 14 seconds seems about right in my eyes.
I’m also thinking about a lot of builds that just aren’t viable compared to ‘that one best build’.
I’m talking about the typical thief backstab build, the mesmer shantasm build, the guardian bunker build, etc…
As I’m mostly playing a mesmer, I will just explain it from my point of view.
I used to experiment a lot with different builds. Condition builds, confusion/retaliation builds, defensive builds, glass cannon builds, etc…
I really liked and some builds seemed pretty strong at first, but after a while I realised that there was just one build that was better than any other build in almost any situation: the shantasm build.
Since I never really liked shattering a lot, I used to play heavy phantasm builds or pure clone condition builds, but these were completely underpowered compared to the shantasm build.
Now there are 2 options, as stated above: you nerf or you buff. I definitely think that mesmers should get a little buff when it comes to conditions, especially when using scepter and torch, weapons that are rarely used in tPvP because of their low utility compared with sword/pistol/focus.
I honestly think this should better be fixed with a buff than a nerf. I know it has already been buffed, but not enough as it seems. Confusion remains a little extra condition that is never relied on to create a good build. A pity, it seems.
And so it goes on for a lot of builds in a lot of professions. What they should do is balance the builds out over the professions and in the trait lines as well.
Or maybe create profession specific amulets?
while i agree rather than nerfing they should try buffing but realistically pvp is already the unwanted malformed cripple of GW2 and we’re lucky if we can ask for the few skills that stand out as OP to be bought in line,
rather than asking for everything else to be bought up to match them.
workload for pvp:
nerf less than 10 skills deemed “OP”
or
buff the other 500 skills to be on par.
