lol, yeah theres a section about it in the rules, but that won’t stop people from selling their votes outside of the game.
Anet can’t check just everything. They can check only, what happens here in the forums and what happens in the game.

I doubt that they check everybodies whispers just to prevent people from manipulating the votes.
And here we are again at the point, why Anet makes themself everything more complicated, than neccessary.
Would they just decide randomly self, who participates instead of letting the community vote, there would have been no need at all to put up such stuff into the rules just in hope, that it will prevent/stop people from manipulating the voting.

As if somebody who wants to manipulate the votes by making of a buy offer would be so dumb to just make a topic up here in the forums, which would just scream out loud “disqualify me”.

No, such things get done secretly hidden way outside of the reach of Anet where they aren’t able to check things, who gets extra votes for money or whatever.
I really think, alot of people are underestimating here the willingness of alot of people to sabotage wherever they can, if they can get somehow profits out of it as long its nearly impossible for Anet to punish/check those things.

You have to look for that only on WvW and the tons of daily hacking players there to get an understanding of it, that if people want to sabotage, they will do it, especially when there are no consequences to be feared off or theres no way for Anet to check what happens and anet simply can’t check everything what happens outside of the game in safety or what gets whispered all by players to check, if some candidates may no buy votes via this way where nobody else can see, what they talk with other, unless ANet would go so far to spy out 24/7 the whisper of all candidates just to go sure, that this method doesn#t get used and then theres still tons of methods that can be used outside of the game, which Anet never will be able to check, like social networks and what not all … or simple private chats that are pasword locked, so that only those can participate in them, which know the right pasword.

I know, many will think I’m overexaggeratign here, but I just am saying, ANet could have chosen a much better way to decide, who should be the players that play at gamescom, just by deciding it self, what is the most simplest and at the same time most secure way to choose out the players, which simply can’t get manipulated through a biased community or vote selling.
I mean it only good.

There would be also no intention to just think about vote selling for 1 second, if there would be at least something thats worth it for a voter to vote somebody.
But the rest of the community just gets nothing.
Votign here is a waste of time basically for everybody, because the only ones, who get basically something for FREE for theoretically doing nothing up their butts, are those candidates…

You could just participate there , do nothing at all, become 3rd place and get rewarded for doing nothing with 3 unique armor pieces … just because those people got some votes.

Do you think thats just right?? I personally think its absolutely not.
I think if theres a reward there, then should only the 1st place win something, otherwise theres no intention for any of the candidates to do their best at all to be worthy for these rewards, if they could just also do nothign and stil lget rewarded with something unique for it, even if its not a complete armor set >.>

And that reward should be some kind of merchandise, not again some digital reward stuff, because only then you know you get rewarded there with something, thats really unique and valuable. Thats just my opinion. Share it or not, I don’t care

I just think Anets methods for rewarding players become only more weirder and weirder …

some people refused the offer / couldn’t go ask him yourself i guess? i wasnt sure if i could make it and it wasn’t all that appealing really.

not to mention this is community sports aka competitive social networking, which has never been my strong point. it’s pretty obvious who the frontrunners are going to be though lol

Ya I was just looking for a quick answer, I’m sure I’ll chat with Caed about it some time in the future - at work at the moment. As far as I gathered he was interested in going last we talked. Oh well, list looks good besides Blu - should have just default invited him to cast imo & I would have enjoyed a larger list to include some of the lesser known, but talented pvpers. Too bad there isn’t a formal ranking system that could accurately be used to simply pick the best players from. ><.

I don’t know any of those people, aside from Helseth so I guess this is an easy vote.

This event is certainly stirring things up, I imagine EU will have an extremely competitive team, but I’m sure this will bring more attention to the competitive side of the game in all regions, at a time where it’s much needed. Would love to play in it if voted for, but I’m sure whoever wins will represent NA well. Throw Five Gauge, Zoose, Zombify and Supcutie votes, all are great well mannered players and have significant community contributions!

As a long time active Dungeon/PvE player and occasionally a PvP player, I must say that Team Mist/TCG has piqued my interest tremendously since the last ToL. I hope the full team of TCG will get the support from the community that they deserve.

As someone who has been hanging around the top of solo queue for a good long while I am glad to have a chance to vote for the players who have impressed me with their skills and consistency.

I’m sorry I don’t have the same experience with the EU players.

I think it is great that ANet is engaging PVP like this. It makes me feel like I should actually take the plunge and start looking for a steady team.

Congrats to the all star candidates, I know I am probably not memorable because I multiclass but I think I’ve played with/against you all in NA. I’m glad to see some of the best recognized.

Definitely agree with Blu being flown out separate of the current competitors, as a commentator, not a caster.

Blu and Josh have commentated before several times, so they could be at the desk together during the competition.

I said it once and I’ll say it again. GW2 needs 1v1 and 2v2 death match ladders.

I enjoy watching friends duel in wvw and spvp. It seems to be a social thing to do but also proves who is the better player. Of course I’ve also seen the horrible tank vs tank battles that last all day. I’d really like to see anet just get rid of tanky stat combos from spvp. Just remove the tanky amulets already.

All star teams in a game that is so out of balance you won’t see some professions at all on PAX.
How about new gamemodes? i mean it has been a year or more since you guys announced it as “coming soon”.

Now we have another PAX that will be dominated by tank bunkerish kittens and OP builds.
