I just finished a game where they had druid and 2 heralds. We couldn’t do anything. It’s true we didn’t have something like d/d ele that can do a lot of sustained damage, but they were outright broken. They were able to tank a frikkin’ trebuchet, while also tanking our damage. kitten?? Is this intentional, since every time we dropped one, guardian would simply resurrect one, while having thief to roam and quickly decap. The worst part wasn’t that we weren’t able to do anything or lost by a long shot, but it was so BORING. Sooooo boring I almost fell asleep during the match. I was playing a s/d daredevil fyi.

Clearly you haven’t met the Dragonhunter or Chronomancer (which is quite shocking because they’re everywhere).

Did you try throwing dragonhunters at them?

druids have too much sustain, that’s their only problem. they’re too weak in almost all other areas though. pretty much forced at this point to be bunkers/team fight support only.

herald is another story though. they’re pretty much bunkers that can output non-bunker damage and CC making them essentially celestial d/d ele 2.0 (tied with scrapper).

btw to the above people, dragonhunter will eventually get nerfed and will no longer be able to get away with running pure DPS utilities. mesmer/chronomancer will also probably see a nerf to their over the top damage as well.

my main concern is that anet is all too eager to nerf anything doing ridiculous amounts of damage with little sustain (DH/chrono) but rarely does anything at all about anything with ridiculous sustain and slightly too much damage (herald/scrapper).

Sounds like you were getting downs - i.e. they are killable - but they got ressed due to a lack of cleave or, perhaps support on your team enabling you to continue to cleave. Composition and or coordination issue.

Also, bunker compositions is already a meta strategy, and has been in the meta for over a year, but just isn’t the most popular because it lacks the versaility to deal with different opposing compositions. The same reason why full damage/1 bunker compositions aren’t used (although they actually haven’t been meta for ages).

Wow, that’s so true. Look at how much complaining was needed for d/d ele got nerfed, complained myself, even tho I am an ele main, that kitten was ridiculous and seeing others take its place is just disheartening. And when the nerfs happen, it usually affects other builds, not just the problematic one (looking at you staff ele in this case). IMO herald has just too many blocks and evades and scrapper has a ton of sustain (experienced both of them in the next match :d ).

Not sure what all the fuss about Druids are. Maybe it’s because I play Scrapper, but all you have to do is shut them dow. With some cc and burst them down. Heralds are rough, but not OP.

it amazes me how every kitten patch anet keep making the game easier and easier…

Mesmer is already kittened. When vanilla is better than chrono you know something is wrong.

mesmers still need a damage nerf. still seeing mesmers fully capable of 100-0ing people with 17.2k HP instantly essentially.

other than over-the-top damage, mesmer is completely fine. chronomancer also has the damage issue too but it’s main issue is having a bit too much CC, albeit at the cost of survivability from other traitlines so it’s less of an issue than core mesmer imo.

Mesmer DOES NOT need damage nerf If anything at all, a burst nerf. Mesmer does some of the lowest damage in the game right now. The autos are some of the weakest and a mesmer might get 250-350k in a game at a stretch whilst many other (especially elite specs) classes can achive 600-700k+ in a game. This isn’t obviously conclusive proof but i feel like some numbers are still important.

Say I’m a druid and they have so much burst and they focus me? I just take Signet of Stone and Protect me and swap places with my team mate so we keep the point.

Ranger takes no skill no matter how you build it and this meta is bunker meta ATM. Prove me wrong. You will NEVER get a point back vs. a good team with a Druid because they introduced Druid/Minstrel.

Top play will be whoever gets the point and doesn’t lose it in the first place, like you lose the early fight? Just give up because lets buff tankiness and forgiving-ness.

Newsflash: Bunkers always outsustain dps roles in a 1v1 (even when it’s not “bunker meta”). Try again.

I can generally decap a point from a druid, but actually bursting them dead is the tricky part.

^just do it with a teammate. I can handle 2v1’s on my minstrel druid quite easily spamming lingering light, but the key is to bring lots of hard CC.

The problem with druid is they literally can’t be anything but bunker because Anet decided to make it a healer. Remove that and the class becomes complete and utter kittening garbage.

Not sure where the whine is coming from since yeah you can’t kill them but they also can’t kill you.

Of course they will be nerfed because #kittenrangers.

^ that’s entirely false. a whole bunch of us are running effective offensive builds with celestial and marauder. druids are very strong 1v1, not to mention group fights.

Yeah I fought a druid that ate my DH damage just fine then put some real pain on me 1v1.
