There are hotjoin private arenas that are open to everyone, allowing and encouraging “co-operative” play, where players get Dailies quickly (for example, letting another player kill them 3 times for Daily).

Is this co-operative play in PvP allowed?

Yesterday someone went into such a match, and told everyone that he had recorded them, and was going to report them and get them banned, and he harassed them with accusations and threats. Did the person doing the harassing break any rules?

Will ArenaNet actually do anything about the co-operative play anywhere in PvP, or about the people that harass those that do?

Pretty sure there is a rule against it, this is called match fixing. The dailies are not objectives in PvP, they’re an added bonus incentive. Any form of action that are performed purposely to manipulate the results of a match is breaking the rules, ie intentionally letting enemies kill you consecutively.

Similarly, harassment is frowned upon and also stated in the rules of conduct. Harassment is common in a competitive PvP environment and ranges on various levels. It is sometimes easy to misinterpret the meaning behind harsh words. You’ll need to tell the difference from telling your teammate to step up their game, to serious dramas like teasing/insults.

The answer is: we don’t know.

I agree withz Akikaze, that I would classify it as match fixing, but since ArenaNet has not yet closed the rank farm arena.

Personally I think there is a difference between ‘being against the rules’ and ‘getting punished’.
