….. recognition of time spent in PvP? The more time, the more recognition? Reaching r60, 65, or 70 requires a ton of dedication (please no skyhammer replies. It’s overblown). Is it so bad to want something acknowledging the hard work and loyalty of players who have given their sweat, blood, and tears forged in the fires of PvP battle arenas?

We keep hearing about how someone say saw a r30 or whatever beating a much higher rank. But we know nothing about this encounter. Maybe the higher rank was trying out a new build. A new class. I know that while I got the majority of points on my mesmer, I’ve experimented with guardian, necro, engi and thief. I’m pretty sure I’ve been beaten by much lower ranked while trying out new builds.

Also if I spec for team play, I might easily lose to a 1v1 build and then people come to the forums and say “Haw! Rank don’t means nuthin!”.

It’s not possible for someone to reach r60 or r70 and be unskilled. Even if you take the least talented player, you can’t help but become good on your chosen class if you play that much. So no, ranks are not meaningless.

Is it so bad to be want to be rewarded for being one of the most loyal players in the game?

P.S. I’m r52, so technically I should be thrilled about being bumped close to 80. But I’m not. I’ve been looking forward to getting shark eventually and being one of the few to reach that achievement. Now I have nothing to dream towards.

And leaderboards….don’t. Just don’t.

You cant simply kitteng put in the same boat rank 50’s along with rank 70’s
This is just the biggest insult and convulsion pvp is ever going to put in this game

55s worked pretty hard. I’m surprised anyone 50+ could stomach that much conquest, let alone rank 70. If anything you guys need to be check out for masochism. It can be very dangerous…

You dont know what you are talking about.
Since they started giving 1.000rank/win in team arena it has been quite easy to rank up in the 60’s. You just needed to win 100games with some bonus. Getting just 5 wins a day and every month you rank up 60’s with a little time of play.

Its a matter of consistently logging everyday. You dont need hardcore masochism.

It is really a big insult for us players in the r69-70 bracket.

why no skyhammer replies?
i’ve met shark skyhammer farmers and even one phoenix skyhammer farmer.

i understand your issue, people who have put in real effort should be able to display that effort, but rank is’nt it.
the moment skyhammer was introduced rank became worthless.

you can take a little bit of joy in knowing that all of those idiots who gained their fake ranks by jumping down a hole will now be stuck in matches with all of the actual rank 60s and 70s, they’ll be eaten alive.

This is perfectly reasonable in my humble opinion and Im 100% behind it. It would be super awesome of Anet, to do this.

From my understanding that atm the existing ranks are rewarded with extra blue trans. Which is nice for people who play all 3 aspects of the game (thanks btw), does it mean much to a pure pvp player?

/aside I am also very much looking forward to shark finisher, is this being removed from the game or shop only? What is happening to the finishers for the compressed ranks?
