Just curious… Is it cheating to switch characters right after map has been selected, but before the match officially starts, In ranked PvP?

it used to be part of the game, now you get dishonored doing it.

I normally never switch, unless I joined with my thief (before patch, solo que) and ended in a team with 2, 3 or even 4 other thieves. I sometimes switched to my guardian when someone asked.

you will get separate MMR based on which classes you play: that is a good thing because previously if you had a high mmr because you were very good at your main class you were pretty much forced into never trying out other classes (or you’d get into match tailored for your main and likely cause a loss for your team)

the byproduct is that switching character at match start now would “cheat” your class-specific mmr

Dis honored is not applied, but you’ll lose rating regardless if you won or not. That includes a swap before match starts.
