Is it really my fault if I lose all my games?
Paragraph 22 from Rules of Conduct designed by ArenaNet for Guild Wars 2 product, does not allow you “disrupting other people’s game experience by not actively participating in matches in good faith, a.k.a leeching”.
Paragraph 1 informs you: “Please be aware that failure to comply with these rules of conduct may result in the termination of your Guild Wars 2 game account.”
My personal advice: If I were you, I would stop playing PvP. I have the exact same issue as you do, and I was warned by many players. I am no longer doing any PvP.
Rules of Conduct can be found here: https://www.guildwars2.com/en/legal/guild-wars-2-rules-of-conduct/
No one can really tell you how good or bad you’re doing. From my experience, most people who spend the whole match telling their team how bad they are are the same people who are afking at home when it’s empty while their team is getting 4v5’ed the whole time, but if you’re watching the map, playing strategically, and not being a keyboard warrior raging at your team then you’re doing better than most, lol.
So I’m doing terrible this season. 48 matches with only 17 wins (All of which are followed up by losses) in sapphire. I’m not even past tier 2 because I don’t win games. I’m almost never at the bottom of the scoreboard, I’m often at the top(Though points aren’t an accurate representation of skill). I win most of my 1v1s even against cheese builds on thief. Last season when i had 48 matches I was nearly ruby. Somehow getting to diamond is hard this time around. I never come close to winning and it seems like all the people I que with tend to be really stupid or just bad(At least that’s my opinion). When I talked to people about this they said I should just “git gud”, am i the one who is pulling down my teams? Should I really be able to carry a team or have such a significant difference, even if my teammates do stuff like go onto points against 4 people and die to beasts in the forest map?
I’m not going to be offended by any mean comments as pvp killed my soul, so be honest.
its not just you. i feel your pain . i practiced pvp for months just to get ready for ranked and most of the time it seems like my team mates just started in pvp. i am starting to wonder if new players to pvp are playing in ranked
I can echo your sentiment, and it does suck the fun out of it.
I finally clawed my way out of emerald into sapphire, but it’s really tried my patience.
I know I make more than my fair share of mistakes, I can freely admit that.
But when I get games where I draw 4 teammates playing the same class and nobody decides to switch, people fighting over bosses on Forest while I’m trying to desperately hold off a three-cap or just people absolutely loving to fight off points all the time, I’m just left stunned and wondering what more I can do…
Maybe. Maybe not.
Out of 19 matches so far I’m at 1 pip.
you spend complaining about it on the forums, you’d be
done by now.”
Best way to find out is to post a video of you playing a match.

that is a great idea i think we all should. never recorded gameplay before any idea what i use to record?
Tough Love here, so sorry for the hurt, but..
Yes. It’s your fault.
I know that hurts to read, but it’s true. I am well aware that good players are being put on teams with bad players. I know that is happening and that part if it is not your fault. Buy when you find yourself in that situation, have have to play differently than you would with a good team.
When you’re in forest and 2 go home and 2 go beast, don’t charge into mid alone. Push to far and 1v1 and hopefully that gets you an early 2-cap. Even if you never feel like pushing far at start is a good strategy, in this case you have no choice. At least you should hold home all match.
That’s just a really really simplified example, but the point is, if you keep playing the same way you normally would with your “bad” team then you will keep winning 17/48 games. You gotta change something.
It’s hard to win 5 pugs vs a 5-man premade… no doubt. That’s a different problem altogether. But do you really think that the other team is all pros? Maybe they got just 1 player who is adapting better to his current team than you are, and that is the difference.
Soloq is a hard road. Every match will present you with a different set of handicaps, and “curry more” isnt just winning your 1v1’s…its adapting in the fly to what’s going on.
Do that better than the other team and win more matches.
OBS works well for streaming matches.
Hey, I’m back to TWO pips! Still haven’t seen three at a time yet, but maybe one day. . .

Shadowplay will record your matches with high quality and minimal performance impact in comparison to OBS and streaming.
I started in Amber as I’ve never played a PvP season before, having just come back to the game. I’ve lost well over half my games but I’m now in Sapphire. Not quite sure what to think of it to be honest, it’s all about stringing wins together really. Not 100% sure how the pip system really works either, you seem to get multiple pips for wins sometimes?
Anyway, since there are only 5 players on each team, individual performance matters a lot and one person can definitely be the turning tide in a game. It all comes down to making sure you have roles covered and you can help a lot with that. If people sit on point doing nothing – Be the roamer even if your class isn’t ideal for it. If you always own mid but you keep constantly losing your close base – be the close defender and rotate back to mid inbetween (I just run into the teamfights at mid, drop my aoe and heals and buffs and rotate back). That’s enough to win a game really, just one person doing the boring stuff.
Quick suggestion…
Give it some time out. Wait for the players to move around a bit more on the leagues, and maybe it will be better in a couple weeks. Also, try different times if you can.

Would probably be better to go to mob with the other 2 and then middle especially if you playing something that is fairly weak 1v1. Carrying imo is mostly about babysitting not doing stuff on your own. You could win tons of 1v1 but if the other goofballs lose every team fight it won’t ammount to much at a ll.
Best advice anyone on this forum will give you is to “git gud” so please…….git gud.
Also any pro here (as they think of themselves) will always tell you it’s 100% your fault…. and the remedy for that is again “git gud”.
Seasons are perfect…completely balanced. Win 1 lose 1 = balance. No progression = anet™.

after you lose enough yes people will say yes your the problem get good and carry your team i am at that point now 76 wins out of 198
Unless your getting blown out , there is no reason to complain. 1st season people cheated their way to the top by being a pro playing in amature matches and losing multiple games purposely just to get that win streak. 2nd season MMR hell/blessing. Depending how you did the season prior determined how fast you go up the ladder. Crap players got carried to the top. I made it to legendary on my spare account and only sapphire with my main. This is season is balanced. If you want a win streak join a pro 5 man group. Otherwise play hard and carry everybody if you have to.
The very fact 1 person has to carry the rest of a team like u 2 are putting it, means that matchmaking is kitten and does not pair u correctly. Where’s the so called balance you are talking about?
You are punching yourself in the face with these comments. Read at least what you write. A balanced game should be a game where each carries his weight..not where 1 does all the work and pray for a win (rare even then). Can all of them be like that? No obviously not…..but when the % of games “that need to be carried” is much greater then the % of games where each does he’s job then you see the problem…and that problem is in pairing people together.
No such thing as balance….and you said it yourself regardless if you actually see that or not.

I’m curious, can you post your build?
If you have a high abnormal loss rate you are being carried when you do win.
I’m curious, can you post your build?
It’s the same one I used to get to Ruby last season with a roughly 60%+ win rate, and which I use to frequently 1v2 and occasionally 1v3 points while the rest of my team does who knows what. It’s certainly not a meta ele, but neither is it the problem in any of my match-ups.
I’m not upset I’m not back at Ruby already, but I am very upset that I’m still at zero pips and haven’t yet seen three at once.

Yes, it’s you. You are bad.
If you’re bad, you’re bad.
If you not bad, but have bads, then they all say you’re bad, and they form a majority opinion.
So, the forums can either tell you you’re bad, or tell you they have no way of discerning it from a paragraph of text.
You could write an essay, detailing your actions in general in terms of rotations and conduct in team fights, and receive reviews, but then, how do you know those who review it aren’t the bads that just say you’re bad? How can you tell, unless you have them also write an essay? But then how will you know their reviewer isn’t a bad? Will you review it? But then you’re going in circles.
...Let’s just stick to complaining about each other!

Totally, ANet’s fault for putting in the Path to Ascension achievement line. Poorly designed from start to finish.

All these problems would get resolved, if Anet like Blizzard in World of Warcraft would design PvP as 2v2, 3v3, 5v5 arenas and 10v10 Rated battleground format. Here in Ranked games Anet should and must do entry like a mandatory 5v5 premade. This way you will enter with a team where people know each other and players would be saved from the horror of playing with random people who just do not know what they are doing!
I am in the same boat of horror. I reached Ruby T5 last season playing solo as could not find a proper team. This season I am slacking in T3 of Sapphire and just grinding games to have 3 wins in a row as such. The only way up is when you play in a good team or have lucky win streaks.
If Anet really cares about proper PvP, they will make mandatory in Ranked games that people can only enter as premade 5 player team as such.
If you have a high abnormal loss rate you are being carried when you do win.
O I c. When I win, I suck. When I lose I suck. When I’m emerald I suck. When I’m dia I suck. O kk. Low mmr means I suck. KK. I get it now.
