Guild Wars 2

I play ele/engi/guardian quite a bit. When I play on those professions my queue is usually 5 min~7 min and I get matched up with/against people from ESL and people who know how to rotate. My 1v1s and 2v2s are quite challenging, educational, and competitive. I can sort of rely on my teammates for basic rotation such as not going for the creatures on forest and knowing the buff timings on temple.

When I try to play professions that I don’t quite play, such as memser, thief, ranger, etc, I get matched up with utter new players who don’t know how to play, who always goes for creature and die, and most importantly, dumb people who zerg all over the map and die.

Even though I maybe new at certain professions, I am sure I don’t need new players on my team against people who know how to rotate. why am i getting these matches?

I don’t think matchmaking has been implemented yet. At least it seems that way.

AFAIK profession MMR is partly avtive. A dev has told something about that in the forum a while ago. I don’t know if this has changed since.

These questions are always ignored by Anet. Here’s a few of them for you .

It’s safe to assume there is currently no profession MMR in place. When beginners are getting matched with veterans, it’s highy unlikely there is any sort of MMR at all.

So how good do I have to be in order to win 4v5? Basically I win a match, next thing I know is now I am forced to face 4v5 against premades who are kitteny because they already have the match in the bag.

What is wrong with anet and their matchmaking? Eversince turret engi died I get more 4v5s. What do i have to do in order to get quality match up?

i just created a necro and had a go in about 10 unranked matches and it was a complete disaster. everyone was completely ignoring the middle point every game for the entire match duration without even trying to contest it. i dont know how that matchmaking works but from now on i will be entering the q with my main class and than switching to necro.
