Is the PVP leauge season 3 only for premades?
If you are like me and don’t want to put in the time for stay and play on static permade in this game, just as I did I think it’s time for you to find another game.
Unless ofcourse you like being a tool ANet uses to “advance better teams” up the ranks faster and with little to no resistance. After all GW2 pvp completely laughs at the solo queuer unless it deems a person “worthy” of the win and places people on the two teams accordingly.
Again I do feel abit sorry that you refuse to release yourself from such torment and abuse.
But at least I admit it!
PoF guys get ready for PvE joys
I want that backpack lol and I’m a stubborn person. As for finding another game I do still play plenty of PvE and even WvW at times.
I got to diamond solo q in under a week in S3. The system still sucks imo but you can just wait a bit and keep climbing later on in the season and get the backpiece eventually.
It is definitely possible to reach legendary in this season through solo queue alone, all you need is 50% win rate, maybe even less if you are lucky with win steaks and you will get to legendary eventually. Yes, it seems like it is going to take me hundreds upon hundreds of games to reach legendary this season, but I will make it eventually because, as I have said before, anyone who plays enough will reach legendary eventually no matter if they are solo or in a pre-made and whatever the matchmaking system is. Even if it takes you 1500 games, you will get the eventually, so don’t give up hope!

Yeah if it’s possible then why am I stuck in Emerald Tier 5? Every time I get within one or two pips I hit a losing streak that wipes the pips I had. I do have other things to do in both GW2 and real life than to sit around trying to grind my way through the horrible algorithms that make up the matchmaking. Also you get little reward and get punished hard with this pip system. If it was based on point and stuff we would be much better of.

I’m experiencing the exact same thing. I’m on a competent team then a complete garbage one then a competent team then a garbage team. Again and again and again. I’m so tired of it. How am I supposed to improve if I’m with clueless players who die in 2 sec? I’m not even talking about rotation, emerald isn’t clearly at rotation level.
Anet is just alienating so many players with their MM system atm, no wonder why queue times seems awful for higher divisions and even at lower, I had faster queues in season 1 ( I skipped 2, and I heavily pay for it).
We went with a 4 guys premade, the enemy Team was almost every time up to par. So far we stand 6 games 4 wins, one because the enemy had an DC at the beginning and flamed demanded reporting of said player, needless to say that felt like a sad victory.
In solo q i have a 2\3 win ratio, but i generally try to avoid more then 2 games per day, last match had 4 emeralds facing 4 saphires, well that was fun.
But we never faced an all random group, quite normal seems to be the 2\3, 2\3, 1 splitt.
I honestly dont know who the PvP seasons are for. When i solo que i get above average que times. Like many of you im getting 1 good team followed by a bad one.
But even when i try to change what is going on to me by joining 2 random players in the jail cell called the mists i get this.
Im not sure what to do, if you solo que you are at MM mercy. If you join random players or a legit team for Ranked play you start getting unreal que times.
It brings up so many things such as fun or competitive scene. PvP leagues hasnt delivered either for the casual player looking for fun. Or for serious players looking to face other top notch players.
Someone on this forum posted last year ROM falling asleep on his twitch waiting for a que.
Who knows who PvP leagues are for.
I was solo Q-ing last night after i finished my PvE reset raids.
I had queue times of 15, 18, 22, 25, 21 minutes etc. I even had 2 of my friends queueing (not with me, just queued). Ended up getting some lopsided wins and then losses. Freakin rip, stuck in T4 diamond since I don’t play NA prime time

Yeah i dont know how you stuck it out.
I did 2 matches last night since i had that 15 min que which we didnt even play because 1 person in the team was like this isnt worth it. Then i followed it up with a 8 min solo que and a 10 min. Im sitting in ruby wondering how.
I log in this morning and the que times were better but once again im wondering who this is for?
The pip system is making players wait for ever for games. Anet is waiting for the better players to play enough games to get out of the PiP league they are in. What happens when those PvP players are not playing as much?
Longer que times for everyone again
yup.
s3 favors teams.
duo or tri or quad teams have higher chances.
duo – pray you don’t fight against a 5 man team and your other 3 team mates are okay
tri – pray you don’t fight against a 5 man team and your other 2 team mates are okay
quad – LETS DO THIS!
solo q in s3?
pray real hard that your 4 other team mates are okay while the other 5 opponents are below your level and your team mates level.
90% of my wins in S3 are solo Q. Its not that bad.

Consider that the rhythm in which you win/lose has everything to do with if you progress in pips or do not progress in pips. This is why we hear contradicting feedback about if the algorithm/leagues are working or not, such as: “I hit legend in 3-4 days of trying hard” or “I’ve been stuck in ruby for 4 weeks”. It’s because three losses and then a win will grant +2 pips and three wins will begin granting +2 pips but one win and then one lose, over and over, will grant no pip progression. Take a look at these examples as they are important to note:
- Guy (A) wins, losses, wins, losses, wins, losses, wins, losses, wins, losses. This is 10 matches with a 50% win rate and 0 pip progression.
- Guy (B) losses, losses, losses, wins, wins, wins, wins, wins, losses, losses. This is 10 matches with a 50% win rate but with a +4 pip progression.
- Guy © losses, losses, losses, wins, wins, wins, losses, losses, losses, wins. This is 10 matches with only a 40% win rate but with a +1 pip progression!
This means that some players may get to legendary easily, depending on if their win/lose rhythm is favorable, where as other players may struggle for weeks to gain even a single pip gain. It also means that some players who shouldn’t be progressing at all, who have poor win rates, are getting favorable win/lose rhythms and rising in to divisions that they shouldn’t be in.
So the next time you hear players gloat about how easy they climbed to legend or hear them talk down to a lower division player, remember this post.

I understand what you are saying and I accept that if a person had nothing other than win/loss/win/loss for an entire season, of course they are not going to reach legendary. However, that situation is never going to happen, yes it could go on for 50 games or more but you WILL progress eventually. Runs of wins/losses like you described will not go on for an entire season. I was stuck in sapphire tier 5 for 60-70 games this season. It was an absolute nightmare but I played enough and eventually I got to ruby. I honestly believe that it is the same for everyone. Maybe those 60-70 games for other people will be 120-130 games, but they will always progress eventually.
I am not saying that everyone who wants to get to legendary and tries all season will get there, because not everyone has the time to grind pvp for 5 hours every single day without fail. All I was saying in my post is that anyone who plays enough will reach legendary. If they have enough time/patience to play the amount that is ‘enough’ for them is another story.

IMO it’s easier to win at non prime time.
Yea I guess… if my q pops.

I think if you want to progress in a reasonable time this is reality ….
If you just want to have resonable good matches then its OK to solo. but don´t expect much more then 50:50 …

Higher tier premade queues (Diamond/Legendary) of at least 3-4 people will make you want to just queue by yourself. I have a screenshot somewhere of a five person premade group I was in from two or three days ago take almost 60+ minutes to find a match, and even then we just went our seperate ways because people just gave up and wanted to either sleep or solo queue.
Facing a 5 man party isn’t what annoys me, it’s the fact that I’m in queue for 20+ minutes for a match that would only last 3-6.

Lol this is what happens when people like me get extremely disgruntle about the MMS, and ANet refuses to keep us in mind as well. We stop playing sPvP in GW2 or GW2 altogether. Lets face what yall are seeing now is what we warned yall would happen back at the start of season 2. Yall told us to go screw our selves and “GET GUD” “Find pvp guilds to play with”, and such and that we was scrubs for just having bad luck at the start.
Well yall are now getting what yall deserve more people are getting smarter and looking for actual competitive sPvP games and such. Maybe next time instead of just enjoying that free MMR carry and talking down on other that didn’t benifit from the MMR carry, yall would actually try to look at the situation as it is. Competitive PvP play should never be “He who grinds the most is the best.” or “He who is chosen to win WILL win, and he who is chosen to lose WILL lose.”
Again just going to leave off with, we called it this would happen if ANet didn’t put any effort towards making the ranked sPvP fair for the solo queuer. GG, enjoy yalls 10 plus min queue for matches that take 3 to 5 mins, and may luck be ever in your favor.
But at least I admit it!
PoF guys get ready for PvE joys
Yes. It is. The only way to achieve something is to get decent people and do the games together with full 5/5 team. Basically the more in your party you get, the ones that you know, the better for you.
I’ve learned my lesson after x number of games played as solo, where 90% were lose games.
I’m probably at 5th round on one pip short of sapphire and then matchmaking screws me over. I got work in the days and I get home, have dinner and when I get into pvp it’s often the hardest time to advance. I noticed in season 2 that I got overal more wins during the day but hey most people don’t have job or school right?
Your que times are so long because ALOT of people (like myself) have decided the matchmaking is ruining our experience. We are no longer participating. I was in sapphire 2 weeks ago when I quit. I got sick an tired of being forced to team with ambers because they were on a sapphires team (less than 5-man). I didn’t agree to carry ambers and emeralds, but the MM was forcing me onto their teams. Many times with rubies on the opposing team.
