Q:

I played this game for a while on release, but it couldn’t hold my interest. I was thinking of giving it another go, but these PvP forums are kind of scary. Is PvP worth playing right now?

When I left I was playing a necro, and just getting obliterated by warriors. Still the case?

From the balance perspective of a Necromancer?

Necromancers are strong in team fights, and I have personally never had issues with a Warrior 1v1. You can fear them, chill them, and then destroy them with bleeds/wells due to their limited amount of Condition removal. The pvp in this game also is not really balanced around 1v1s.

So yeah, Necros v. Warrior, should typically go in favor. Thief is your typical pub stomper atm.

the game is not bad … its just boring. today there were some dudes asking questions to the devs and they just talked about the meta of this game .. i mean seriously who cares about the meta ..when most of the ppl dont like conquest or the spvp, today i think it was 9pm and i waited 30mins to get into a paid and guess what me and my team did not went in, we just went to frees and kill pugs.

That’s such a subjective question that it’s hard to give an answer that would have any real meaning. I think the best thing I could say is that nothing has changed to such a degree that you would like it now more than you did before.

I will say this however. I never tell people to just L2P because I think a game shouldn’t be balanced in such a way that you need to be a top tier player to enjoy the pvp, but if you really quit solely because you were dying to warriors, you should give it another shot and see if you can improve your play. Hundred blades burst specs are most definitely counterable, so if you enjoyed the game and were just frustrated by that, you should keep playing and try to find a build that works better.

Thanks for the replies. I didn’t leave because of warrior specifically, the game just seemed really unorganized as a whole is why I left. Especially dungeons, it was like trying to run a WoW heroic with 5 DPS.

Warrior vs. Necro is Necro’s favor, easily. Don’t even have to have a stun break, you can just have 3 corruptions. That’s if you actually aren’t at a low skill setting.

Since people are negative about nerfs, how about we buff to balance then?

Wait on patches man. I left and am currently waiting on patches. PS2 and LoL keep me sane atm b/c GW2 needs a lot of work before it will get any of it’s lost PVP player base back. I left because i got tired of sitting in the mists for hours on end waiting for paid to pop only to have 8 teams… 8 teams out of the whole NA to Q. Really Anet.. screw the meta and fix that problem 1st. No one wants to wait around for hours on end waiting and hoping for a match to pop.

There’s still no matchmaking but the balance is pretty good, for a relatively new game.

Dungeons will never be organized, I would say that they don’t really fit the games combat mechanics, instead seem to be designed with traditional rpg combat in mind, indeed making it look like a WoW dungeon where the tank is permanently down.
The latest dungeon, fractals, seems to shift more importance to boss mechanics then combat mechanics though, probably for the best to.
