Hey, I just wanted to make a quick note, Slow is (obviously) creating some unintended benefits for certain skills that needs fixed as soon as possible.

Slow currently increases the duration, by by extension, distance, of mobility skills causing players to travel farther with the condition. Quickness had a negative impact in the same way.

Additionally, Slow extends blocks beyond their normal time allowing people to block for 4-6 seconds straight. (Have not tested with Quickness.)

I’m sure there are others, but a fine comb needs to be taken to skills to make certain skills completely not factor in slow and quickness.

I think its working as intended. Just like quickness is a disadvantage for engi block.

Just use them wisely.

I’d say it is a fair tradeoff and opens up some nice counterplay. If they really want to channel a block for 6 seconds while I’ve got Alacrity ticking away, that’s fine by me. By the same note, it prevents mesmers from mindlessly spamming Slow before a burst/in the middle of a fight and makes it more of a “Use when needed” kind of thing.

The movement skill thing should probably be fixed though since they removed Swiftness/Cripple/Chill’s effect on movement skills.

No, it’s not. I used Ride the Lightning to escape, I traveled half way across the map because slow doubles movement skill distances. It’s obviously bugged.

I also noticed it doesn’t seem to go away after it’s cleansed and lasts the full duration, I could swear there has been multiple instances where my character was still slowed despite it being removed.

The whole condition is still very clunky.

Rofl, you don’t need a kitten trade off for a negative effect on you… Clearly is buggy, don’t start being ridiculous. I hate slow as much as the next guy but obviously this isn’t working as it should be.

So you are basically wanting it to reduce the speed of movement at the same time? What would be the whole purpose of chilled condition then? It does the exact same thing except doesn’t reduce cast time.

If it was a small increase, it wouldn’t be so bad. But it’s increasing the distance of mobility skills by a lot.

In other words, Ride the Lightning WAS a 900 range travel, Slow turned it into 1800 range travel. Slow does slow skills, but it is bugged, it DOUBLES my distance travel with movement skills.

Yea I think some of these effects shouldn’t be the way they are. If slow is a debuff condition I wouldn’t think (???) it would have positive effects on the player effected by them. I used blurred frenzy while slowed and it’s amazing having an evade frame that long hahaha

Engineer using Gear Shield had a 6 second block.
