15+ minute queues don’t happen anymore. The matchmaking system doesn’t allow it. Even at off hours, you’re very unlikely to see anything over 9 minutes— because matchmaking throws you into a bad game at that point, rather than have you wait longer for a good one. While the best players may have to wait a couple more minutes on average for their games, they also win more of them, which easily makes up for it.
I agree there needs to be a max amount of games played over a certain time period that count toward leaderboard ranking. What really annoying though is that everyone thinks they have a high MMR when no one even knows what there MMR is. If I hear one more complaint I’m a great player I should be ranked him I’m going to plotz. Next fixes should be maximum amount of games played toward leaderboard (a healthy ammount but nothing crazy) and everyone’s MMR available.
im getting 5-7min queues these days, so I rarely play. i like dota 2 enough and the queue pops are in under a min, so i’m doing that until the xpac hits. nothing really motivates me to play conquest currently.
I think that guy with 27-2 record yesterday must be pretty good don’t you and he was #1 for a while.
That is good but the guy also played 30 games haha. Having someone like that on the top of the ladder is okay, people don’t like seeing all the people with 50% win ratios up there. Personally I realise the reason it is like this is because of the mixed solo and team leaderboard so I am fine with people at low win rates being up there as long as they are playing good players and not losing to brand new players.
I think the suggestion of capping games per day or total was a good idea. If someone can play 40 games on a Friday there is a good chance they can play that many everyday and anyone with a job has absolutely no chance at this leaderboard.
The season is long enough that if the MMR system is designed well, everyone should be able to play enough games to reach their appropriate position on the LB.
If 8 weeks isn’t enough time for people to find their appropriate place on the LB, then the LB is broken.

I agree, people with an unlimited amount of time on their hands will always yield 10x more points than a person who works 40hrs a week. Solo players will easily outrank premades.

5, if you have LOW mmr, you score more points for losing.
If you aim for always loss within 100 score difference, you’ll have the maximum points with lowest MMR possible. Then your Q time won’t suffer and you can farm more games for ranked.

If you have low MMR you are being matched up with low MMR people. You’d have to be on the very bottom to consistently get more points for winning but then you’d just go up. Though it probably works when someone doesn’t play during peak times.
