Yak’s Bend(TWIN) Racist against Sylvari

Power Warrior meta.
Just wait.
I can’t wait to be biased against every other class that isn’t meta warrior, like what has been done to me.
It’s coming.
I can feel it.
Condi meta is coming to an end.
I shall drink the tears of my fallen Mesmer and Reaper enemies out of their own skulls.
All is Vain.
(edited by Furajir.3815)
Seems doubtful.
Edit: The part about reapers and mesmers coming to an end.
Condis will likely be toned down some. As to Warriors being Meta. I hope so since i like the Warrior class.
Warriors, Guards and Thieves have NEVER been meta. Ever. Never ever. Less than 0 times. It’s about time Anet realizes that some classes have been on top for far too long. Speaks volumes.
“racist”
I don’t think you know what that word means…

Changed to biased.
I’m still racist against sylvari
I think that it’ll be tough for Anet to balance / buff warriors and thieves. One little nudge in the right direction just a little too far and they’ll be over powered monsters killing everything in sight. Buff warrior survivability and you’ll never kill them. Buff thief damage and they’ll kill everything before being seen. Still… wouldn’t it be glorious!
Warrior hambow was easily meta, granted it was a boring and easy build, but it was meta right next to D/D Ele for some time.
Condi Reaper will likely see a bit of a chop in a few spots, but I can’t see condi output of Mes being touched at all. You might see a change to Moa or how it interacts with F5 however.

Uhhhhh…
Bunker Guardians
Hambow warriors
D/P thieves.
All these were meta at one point.
I don’t have an issue with the condi classes per say, it’s just that it’s 2016 and here they are, yet I’m stuck in 2013. Every other class has left thief/warrior in the dust.
I won’t get into condis, there are plenty of thread topics on them already.

I forgot that bunker guards actually were, but they did DO anything but hold points. Now you’ve got these classes that can defend a point and wreck your face. Bunker guards were harmless. Same with Hambows, maybe the BUILD was meta, but it was never on par with what was floating around at the time and what we have currently. And lol @ the d/p thief meta comment.

Dude where the heck have you been?
you never saw Shoutbow being played in pro tournaments?
Research before you post stuff like “Ever, Never ever. Less than 0 times”

So you’re just changing the goalposts? Clearly these builds were meta, and you’re backpeddling.
“Oh but they didn’t DO anything” LOL
Perhaps our definitions are different. I did just come back after a year, but I played off and on sporadically. By meta, I meant a requirement and a MUST have class for your tourney setup. I have no qualms with admitting wrongfulness, and there is no need to be kitteny about it. If you’re able to link a top team that used a hambow warrior and d/p thief I’d love to see it. Then I will simply say, I was wrong and you were right, like an adult.
I’m simply stating a fact. If you wanna call it backpedaling, so be it. I call it misspeaking. There are classes that are constantly the meta. Ele, Mesmer, Necro. I’m not trying to be a jerk or anything, but when you make an unequivocal claim that is clearly wrong, I’m going to point it out.
Anyway, I’m not going to go about digging into previous tournament compositions to prove this to you. I believe you were the one who made the claim anyway so that means it’s up to you to prove it.
Wars are okish as they are.
Right… They just lower sustain than any other class while classes do just as much or more burst… So sure, if you count having mediocre support and high damage but low sustain good then yea… They are fine…

Trolling right? I mean I’ve seen you in the forums a good bit… Hope this is troll post >.<

It’s not that thieves need a damage buff… They need a sustain buff… and not a simple add X amount of hp to them either… The access to stealth is terrible, especially when compared to some other classes… Blowing a single 40s utility for 3s stealth or 6 initiative for a smoke field and additional 3 to leap through it for 3s stealth… sure you could do the 6 initiative smoke field + black powder combo for 6s stealth but that’s a 40s cd + lots of initiative.. Don’t get me wrong I’m not saying thief needs never ending stealth but, it doesn’t need to be so costly to use…
Wasn’t trying to troll as much as I was maybe trying to prove a variance in opinion, hambow didn’t last very long. And yes, I completely forgot about bunker guards.
About the thieves, seriously thieves are ok they don’t need a buff. They can literally make you disappear in 4 sec.

I dont have a link but ROM from Orange Logo played ShoutBow warrior and was warrior main until HoT release. Im sure he didn’t pick Warrior just to handicap his team. It was a very powerful build and had a solid spot on the team.

So …. what it has to deal …. with warrior being bad ? …. It’s actually…. good…. because…. they have to trade something …. to get …. well…. something.
(edited by Raek.8504)
I don’t think Warriors are bad at all, I actually think they are the best designed class by far. Skills are telegraphed enough to offer counterplay etc. It’s the other elites and classes that I have no clue what’s going on. We are just lacking serious sustain under condi pressure, which is coming from everywhere. (GG DRUIDIC CLARITY CLEARING 13 CONDIS ON ENTERING CA)
No doubt warrior has the damage, but they can either be offensive or defensive. Too defensive and you can’t kill anything, too offensive and you’re pure glass and go down like a sack of potatoes. Warriors get pigeonholed into picking a role with their traits, we don’t get the best of both worlds like most classes.

I agree, warrior is one of the better designed classes, it was my initial main on GW2 launch… Warrior is stuck in one of two situations..
A: Do enough damage to kill people but be torn apart like a wet tissue…
B: Don’t do enough damage to kill and eventually be killed yourself because you can’t kill people…
Thief I can understand being a glass cannon… GW2 is the only game I can think of where a warrior is forced into “Run pure dmg or gtfo of pvp” situation…

What I’m trying to say (and probably did poorly) was that almost every other class can do similar damage to warrior (except that silly gunflame) but have much more sustain…

Hambow was very dominant when it was meta (some top teams where using 2 of them) and shoutbow was meta too for quite a while. Thief (s/p, s/d, d/p) was more or less mandatory for years until HoT. Guard was meta as bunker guard, later as power medi guard and burn guard.
If we look at the times before the trait changes last year ranger, necro and mesmer were probably the classes with the least appearance at pvp tournaments.

I can understand the conundrum of what to do with warriors, because, they really do have all the tools and makings to be one of the more insane classes. A potential steamroller. I’d be happy with offering us a bit more sustain, lowering cd/increasing uptime of stances, and maybe offering us access to protection.

Thanks I stand corrected. I knew the build itself was meta or popular for us at the time, but I didn’t think a team NEEDED us for actual tournies.
Thieves and Guardians have been meta/competitive from August 2012 to October 2015. So many builds and eras, they’ve remained until the expansion.
Warriors have had a few off and ons, but the two seasons following the expansion have been the longest period where they’ve been bottom tier.
Other than Warriors, Eles have either been really meta, or really crap, and Rangers have been bottom tier the most out of any class in competitive PvP
Anyone who’s followed the competitive scene since launch will have the same knowledge. Remember the game didn’t come out last October.

Pretty sure petting zoo rangers were meta for some time. Regardless of eles being crap or not, the bunker build was necessary and whatever it is they run now, auramancer.
My point was THE SAME CLASS makeup required for practically the same 2-3 classes. Regardless wether their build was crap or not they were a necessity for competitive team play.

Yep, briefer stints as Trapper Rangers, and Spirit Rangers, but my observation is still true. It’d be sad if a profession was subpar forever, wouldn’t it

cough Warriors cough
One build over the course of Esports history as the saving grace doesn’t mean the class isn’t subpar, or rather ON PAR, with everyone else, especially when that build is deader than the dream that is GW2 e-sports.

What, Hambow, Shoutbow and Rampage warrior don’t count? That’s at least ~2 years in the meta.

Yea, we are aware Warriors have been bad this far into 2016 and for a period before Hambow.
But you keep exaggerating really hard to defend points, like do you actually not know about the Shoutbow build that was meta for the entire Celestial meta, and then Rampage Warrior being competitive after the Celestial meta until the X-Pac?

Doesn’t fit his narrative, he will continue to ignore it.
Not going to lie. I’ve never even heard about rampage meta. Maybe I need to stop reading the gw2 newspaper and start getting on the internet for more up to date info.
Make warrior stances as “F” buttons. Berserker stance, Endure Pain, Balanced stance as F3, F4 and F5
That would open up the utility slots for other skills.

I’ve loved this idea since it’s inception, just like attunements or the facets that pulse.

What? AH Guardian and thief were meta for years. Shoutbow cele warrior was also meta for atleast 6-7 months.

We have covered this and I have since digressed, although it was not my initial point at what I was getting at. Welcome to the conversation.
I seriously can’t tell if he’s trolling. He basically just listed half of Orange Logo’s roster from when they won WTS and said they were “NEVER been meta. Ever. Never ever. Less than 0 times.”
I guess that^ never happened then.

Good ol’ Orange Logo.
I’m simply stating a fact. If you wanna call it backpedaling, so be it. I call it misspeaking. There are classes that are constantly the meta. Ele, Mesmer, Necro. Now revs. One season or one period of time is not what I’m talking about. I’m talking about the same classes CONSISTENTLY being at the top of the food chain, not just once along the way with one good build that carries the garbage core class.
I would say warr/guard/thief have been top tier during more metas than nec/mesm, so dunno. In fact, until this few last months, those three classes were meta for a kittenload of time.
warriors need to hit like a truck in defensive abillities without it getting to insance when they equip berserker gear .
So maybe higher base damage that stacksk less with ferocity . stuff like this would i gladly see on like DH traps also .
Its to rewarding for tank classes to equip glassy gear . instead lower the amount they are giving from ferocity and instead boost the base damage so a warrior in paladins actually can hurt something.
This would be a good way to adjust the power creep also from most classses

Yea, that’s pretty much the case. They were all pretty much meta up until HoT.
