Its almost over! What are your thoughs?
The original MMR equation still seems to be the best. The main complaints against it were 1) New players could get to the top with a lucky win streak and 2) the way decay was handled caused some irregularities.
1 could be fixed by modifying the equation so that score=(MMR)(G/(G+15) where G=total games played and MMR is the origional MMR equation. This would keep MMR low for players with very few games under their belts while approaching a null value as a statistically significant number of games were accrued.
2 simply make decay permanent. If I am number 1 and take a 3 month break, there is no reason why I need to immediately be number 1 again if I happen to win my first two games. Make MMR decay slowly over time starting after 2 weeks of no games played and make it so that once you loose rating you have to earn it back.

Why try harding for a leaderboard if you are not having fun doing it? You’ll be able to get llamas from ESL weeklies!
Same problems as last time. The only reason it seems too long is because they are still rewarding people for grinding. Also, lets not have 3 months before we see another test season with changes after this one ends please.
Even though I have higher rank in less games played per day this season compared to the last, I feel like the matches last season was better, more close matches less blown out ones. Maybe it’s just me, seems like this season feels a lot more grindy and less fun even with less games played per night.
- LB still favors farming over actual wins/skill
- premades vs full soloq team happens almost every match, is hardly fun and main reason why i barely played lately… i am sure that majority of players do not have actual team and do not enjoy getting farmed by premades

I must say that I can see the problem with solo queue mixed with premades.
Some problems I found with it.
1. Unfair matches can lead to absolute blow outs.
2. Premades versus pugs is rarely competitive.
3. Premades versus pugs is an un fun experience for the pugs.
4. (and this is my favorite) Waiting 12 minutes in queue to get a full pug versus premade game only to get stomped into the ground.
However pros are
1. Queue times. More people playing = faster queue times. Dividing the queues would result in much higher queue times and mine are already 10 minutes average solo queue.
2. Solo que players are given handicaps to help them deal with losing more games.
3. Pro/Con Encourages people to team up and play more seriously.
First they say they have system which will prevent profession stacking then they come up with daily profession win AHHAAHAHAHAHAH Greatest TROLL of all TROLLS ANET!!!!
Tbh, I prefer the old MMR based leader board more. They just need to fix 2 things:
- only include people who played more than the median number of games played that seasons. For example, when the season starts, people play on median only 5 games, then anyone who has more than 5 games will be included in the leader board. But when the season is ending, and the median number of games is 67, only people with more than 67 games are included in the leader board. This actually solves the “low number of games, but top leaderboard” problem
- real permanent decay. This solves the “win once, top leaderboard again” problem
Already quit PvP. Just log in here and there to troll.

“Shrug” I don’t understand all the claims that LB position is meaningless. I have managed to keep my win % over 50 ( almost exclusively playing in Ranked queue as a solo. Condi-shatter and phantasm Mesmer ) at this point. So, that makes me feel good.
The farming teams sucked. I’d like to see no pre mades at all in PvP. Turret Engi ran away with this one imo and that skewed the results.
Beyond that.. since I don’t have a realistic chance of being in the llama category.. who cares?
-edit- Most of the matches seemed somewhat balanced. There weren’t many matches where one side or the other got completely run over. That seems to have changed in the past week or so. Just recently I have been seeing more blowouts.

This leaderboard is totally against ANet philosophy of “No grind” and needs a whole revamp. Enough to say.

I like the current system. I feel it’s a good balance between leaderboards standing an MMR. I felt more challenged now than I was in the previous system. I say keep it as is but that’s just me.
