Just give "~~ of the Arena" title to any1 plz
No, those “Titles” are for the veterans sPvP players who played back in that Qualifying Point Era that ended when Custom Arenas came out. If they were to implement those titles again it would have to be through some sort of League Division system, and different Titles that aren’t so easily acquired with these leader boards.Your suggestion is similar saying to give GW2 Players a way to get GW1 Titles through hitting a certain Achievement Point range which isn’t fair to those veterans who played GW1. I’m not against bringing these titles back, but the way they are achieved shouldn’t be so dependent on rank of the leaderboard.

I think most of players in these have almost same skill as them in these days. the only difference is just they started this game, or pvp content earlier.

Usually rewards granted to long term/original players STAY with the long term/original players. Limited time/supply rewards are a big part of this. One of the things to remember is that if they took your suggestion kitten near everyone in the game would have that title…Making it nearly worthless. A title that everyone has looses all meaning. Especially in a game as cosmetic driven as this one is.

I understand what you’re saying, but giving those titles through these leaderboards isn’t the best way to go. They need some league division system, and leaderboards do not show skill at all. It’s kind of a kick to those old players face if you make these titles easy to obtain with no effort. Like I said i’m not against bringing these titles back. Most of the people who bear these titles barely play anymore, and if anything they should implement new titles. Like what they do with WvW Seasons, they have different titles each season for the achievements.

nah.. gw2 is not even pro esport game like league of legend or starcraft 2… just spread all the title out just like what they did on legendary champion title… they can make new title when this game becomes real pro esport game but it doesnt even seem to be. common, it is mmorpg that every 1 would do anything to grind for something.
What does esports have to do with anything said? You think title’s only have worth to the people that own them in an esports environment? Get real mate.
Title’s have prerequisites to own. If you fall outside of that prerequisite then move on. It’s not always about skill or pvp. Sometimes titles go out for loyalty to them game or being there during a difficult time or test phase in the game.
If you don’t meet the prereqs then just move on. Or is there some reason you HAVE TO HAVE this one specific title you apparently don’t qualify for o.O

Even it this game isn’t at that level compared to LoL or Starcraft 2, they shouldn’t make everything in this game easy to get. I doubt they will bring these titles back anyways. I have to disagree, and only agree that they’ll add new titles or if they were to implement these titles it would be in a fashion that you would have to earn it through some division system. Just because this game isn’t the most Esport game out there, doesn’t mean they should make everything easily obtainable. I don’t want to see someone who came from PvE who doesn’t even play sPvP, get carried and easily obtain these titles from these easy to manipulate leaderboards. It just loses it’smeaning.

I think those " —-— of the arena" titles don’t mean anything. The other day I saw a shadow arts thief with the challenger of the arena title. And I still killed him 1v1 without shadow arts on my thief.
So I think they are not that important.

I think you mean Cruuk, lol. He has been playing Shadow Arts since launch. There are people who have this title and aren’t all that mechanically great, but for those who were at the top during that time it’s a different story. Those titles were based on how many QP points you had which you could just get by queuing up games so somewhat farm able which was the flaw. I could have gotten that title if I played sPvP a bit earlier, but my final QP was around 100, and I think the 200 range was the needed for “Challenger of the Arena”. This is why these certain titles should be based on a division system like seasons. Titles don’t mean anything in regards of mechanical skill of course, but when you give these titles to everyone then it loses the meaning of having it. Kind of like how Reaper/Mist Walker, Legendary Champion lost it’s meaning. Majority of the people that play now didn’t really come into sPvP until after the April 15th patch, and that is when Dragon was obtainable and given away like candy, thus the influx of people in the Heart of the Mists. I was Rank 71, before the April 15th Upscale and liked my Phoenix Finisher, but now I don’t even use it because it lost it’s meaning. They made it possible, but too easy to rank up. Which is why even the Dragon Finisher doesn’t look so great in my opinion, and given away easily. Sure times are different and history changes, but with relating things from now and then, people have to know the roots and know where they came from. The meta changes and people come and go.

Yea I think it depends on the people. There is a guy " Qt Hman " that is very good and has Master of the arena title.
common, it is mmorpg that every 1 would do anything to Farm for something.
Lol, please don’t mind me and carry on.
Between a master and apprentice, i would love to see the differences.
We all know who the hardcore players are on both sides of the pond. These titles were given as a reward to active players over a very short window, and stand more as a quirky relic than some high status.
We shouldn’t be trying to remove spvp rewards though. As it stands there really is nothing, which was Arenanets attempt at making the game more casual friendly. There really is nothing else right now, and that’s the issue, not this.
