Justification for Renewing Stamina
Some time ago there was a patch where Mesmers and Guardians had their “Gain 5s of Vigor on Critical Hit” trait toned down to have an internal cooldown of 10 seconds from 5 seconds. Elementalists have the same trait with the exception that they must invest a minor trait point to get it. However, their trait retains the 5 second internal cooldown.
What is the justification for Renewing Stamina not sharing the same internal cooldown as the other versions of this trait?
Access to vigor without using cooldowns is incredibly valuable almost regardless of the build a profession is using. Even if celestial builds and Elementalists were in a bad place right now, what is the reason for this outlier trait?
Because if eles get “adjusted” then they will be right back out of the meta… Just ask all the ele players
It’s an Adept trait, while Vigorous Precision and Critical Infusion are minor. This means eles have to choose if they want it or not, so they have to sacrifice something in order to gain it. Guard and Mesmer simply just have to put points in that trait line, and don’t have to make any decisions regarding their builds.
If it was a minor trait they would have probably shaved it just like with VP and CI.

QFT. Why should a minor trait be as strong as a major trait on another class. Perhaps you are asking that the guard/mesmer version be restored to 5s/5s and moved to the major-tier Adept?
Also, D/D ele is very strong in conquest, but it is also a bunker build that stacks every bit of survivability it can get. No other ele builds are truly viable in high-tier b/c their survivability is trash w/o the traits d/d uses (S/F is strictly inferior to thief, as always). If you wanted to nerf the vigor on-crit, this would murder any semblance of viability other ele specs have, and force MORE people to play d/d.
When you start digging into the problems behind eles, you really find the class is kind of a mess. It’s way too reliant on some incredibly OP traits for reasonable survivability, and just deleted by thieves without tanking-up.
And if you are a thief that is having trouble with an s/f ele, here is how to win 100% of the time:
1. Attack them and make them pop an invuln….You retreat/stealth to reset/regain health. Using your ports that ignore LOS are a great way to do this.
2. Do this again to make them pop their other invuln….do the same
3. Do this a third time to force arcane shield…
4. Kill them at your leisure. They are now dead-meat and won’t have anything but 2 dodges to deal with your burst for a good 20-30s more.

Thats still no real justification. Thief has a similar, presumably even worse trait, that gets us vigor on heal (adept trait). It got nerfed from 8 to 5 seconds a long time ago, so why exactly should Ele be allowed to keep theirs, keeping in mind that they’re one of the two most powerful classes atm?
because you would kill every other ele build even more; simple as that.
give berserk eles more survivability and i will have no problem with renewing stamina getting nerfed.
Eles have 8k less hp than warrior/necros and 5k less than mesmer/engi/ranger. Eles also are light armor users. Makes sense to give them more evades and high protection uptime.
If something needs a nerf is the boon vigor itself. Note how basically every meta build has very high vigor uptime. Shoutbow, shatter mesmer, thief, 2kit engi, guardians, etc all have a lot of vigor uptime with almost 0 investment for it.
If you want to just make interclass comparisons lets first ask a nerf for a minor trait that reduces weapon swap cooldown from 10s to 5s. Or complain about a minor trait that reduces the cooldown of ilusions utilities and ilusion skills for all weapons ….

Because mesmers are so OP in this meta… lmao.
