I just played a single game and instantly realised the main goal of the game is not to PvP but to escort dolyaks … err rangers and doorbreakers with the occasional boss spawn.

Niche rolls are gonna be the highlight of this map and it doesnt fit the current style gw2 has had with PvP at all, especially the fact that i feel like im champ farming with worse loot.
Since thats what you have to do to win, kill the champ.

It promotes no reall skilled PvP. Its all about who has the highest DPS to down the lord the fastest whilst still having decent support in a zerg. And if there is something ive learnt, PvP zergs do not require a high skillcap.

I hope anet understood the idea of trebs on point cap maps are used solely to treb points. Because they have no reall goal if the battle keeps moving since most people can just run out of it, no problem since there are no reall defining points you need to ‘cap’

Sure you can easily try to stop a zerg of NPC’s knocking on your door with it. But isnt it better to be there yourself instead, during supply running? instead of going out of your way to get a treb wich is not remotely close to where fights are bound to happen?

I like the map from a non pvp perspective. But please dont put it in ranked mode… Dont do skyhammer all over again.

Agreed. Played three games and I know it’s going to be scrub promotion. Thing that may make pvers very happy cause they feel oh so good with their cheese just running supply. I just don’t know why even do this if all pvers had turret engi already :O – I’ve met one ofc. Hey! insta crate hihihoho on supply drop ima sooo gud i cant even dodge kill shot (i thought range + gs mobility might be good on this map, obviously i was wrong). Actually I’ve hit like 90% of killshots. But is not solo build. No one cares fow winning with players so no help, just run some pve. Maybe better teams would go for win over enemy team and than go for map control. Dunno, this is going to be extreme cheese. Solidyfying cele, solidyfying thief as zerk roamer and one thing good – making mesmer really desirable. Though probably not as mesmers would wish it’s still portal utility bag Kappa
Experience: terribad, left turrets are even better than on point – buff it more, im gonna count how many kill shots it takes, gazillion probably with its outheal (im assuming that i land all, doge2hard, turrets cant dodge man)
Possibilities: I would like to see how this unfolds for teams and more important – how it unfolds for pvp players, not this bunch of pve seeking something where you can just learn your tactic by heart and repeat reaper, just like dungeon, only thing it’s called pvp
Overall: it’s not pvp as for now (nor I see easy way to change this)

This map is eons away from Skyhammer. For starters, the vast majority of people like Stronghold, pvp and pve players both. Skyhammer isn’t even in the same league.

As for the treb, I’ve realize it’s usefulness is mainly for the middle supply camp since regular hits can’t interrupt channeling foes.

As for the Cele meta… you kinda contradicted yourself when you said “Its all about who has the highest DPS to down the lord”. That’s true if every team were running the same builds but I guarantee you we’ll be seeing a lot of Zerk DPS facemelting builds for killing NPC’s. Celestials and Tank specs will mainly be useful for running Supplies and getting Heros… since you can’t be interrupted so being sustains is nice.

But like you, that’s just my own speculated opinion on the matter. I personally think its a great gamemode that should most definitely be added to Ranked PvP. Can’t wait for the new leaderboards.

In case you haven’t been playing this game long enough, people have been asking for deviation from the status quo for a loooooooooong time. So mission accomplished is what you’re inadvertently saying.

Also, they should give Stronghold it’s own ranked queue. It will get boring playing in the same map all day but, it will be a great deviation from conquest.

Nope, it’s about who is better at allocating resources and knowing when. I mean you can bloody banner rez the Lord or Signet rez the lord or Elixir R the Lord (you can’t stealth rez the Lord cos he attacks so meh but, you get the idea) . You should take the time to play it more…. unless you’ve already made up your mind?

You guys need to realize it’s your fault for playing the mode this way, there is way more to it than killing/escorting npc’s. I’ve done around 15 games and the kills I had on people is way way way way higher than on npc’s.
