I understand for wts that the rules are eighteen and that won’t change. However will there be future events where you can be under eighteen and still compete? I was filling out a college app and under accomplishments I still need one or two more. But in all seriousness is there any possibility? I have seen with various other games players that are sixteen sometimes even fourteen can compete for cash at lan events.
Thanks, backpack

I do not speak for ANet, but I’m fairly confident that the age restriction on the WTS is due to the fact that it requires flying the competitors out to China. In that particular case the law prevents them from sending anyone under the age of 18. For any events happening within America, as long as you can get yourself there, there’s no reason why you shouldn’t be able to compete.

Again, these are my thoughts in an unofficial capacity

Judicially emancipating yourself would clear all parties from legal responsibilities. If an 18 year old got lost and died it would be nowhere near the amount of bad PR had an emancipated 16 or 17 year old getting lost and dying.
