Well, the only ranged spec I can imagine the works nicely would probably be GS/Staff mesmer. Their whole shtick revolves around keeping range and and kiting while doing their usual burst. Staff ele would be an option too, but it only really works well with cele and you’d basically be a bunker instead of a DPSer. Engi would fit the bill too, actually.

Condi ranger using shortbow and Axe/torch could also work. You’re stuck at 900 range but damage can be achieved via said range. Not as effective as some of the builds mentioned above though.

Ty. What about Staff/scepter Mesmer instead of Staff/GS? Condi vs power build? Or Thief P/P + SB?

i’m using rifle, Egun and flamethrower on my engi. since toolkit auto is rarely used most engi builds are fully ranged, although they are most effective in medium range. so engi seems like it could be what you’re looking for.

Engineer is your best option. Played optimally, the class sits almost entirely at mid range.

Staff ele is pretty much ranged only.

He wanted a ranged only build. See what you get when you want that, seeing as most viable builds will need to be in melee range at one point or another to do things?

Some Engineer builds will reward for you being constantly at mid/long range from your targets.

Rifle, Grenade Kit, Mortar Kit for attacks.
Something like Slick Shoes for kiting / retreating.
Tool Kit for a bit of everything.
